Graduated from UT Austin in 3.5 years. Decided to be pre-med at the end of the first year, so I had to cram a lot of classes into summers and winters.

Summary of Application Experience
Applied via TMDSAS to all Texas schools, Applied via AMCAS to Baylor College of Medicine
Ended up withdrawing applications from UTSA, Texas Tech Lubbock, and TCOM because I didn't have undergraduate Biochemistry. I withdrew my apps from these schools at the end of 2012 (middle of December). After sending multiple emails and making phone calls - UTSA and TTHSC seemed uninterested in interviewing me, so I withdrew.
Interviewed at:
UTSW UTH Texas Tech Foster School of Medicine UTMB Texas A&M (Temple campus) Baylor
Sent letters of intent in December to: UT Houston Foster School of Medicine UTMB UT Southwestern Texas A&M UTSA Texas Tech

Summary of Experience:
No secondary application. Loved this school and the location. Students were all helpful and relaxed. I had one bad interviewer here and ended up having to schedule a 3rd interview at the last minute. Had some trouble corresponding with them after the fact - lots of computer automated email responses.
Summary of Experience:
No Secondary Application. Didn't really enjoy my experience at Foster School of Medicine. I had a great student host and the weather was good, but my interviewers were very tough and the food was mediocre. I did like that the school has some brand new facilities and technologies. Small class size is nice also.
Summary of Experience:
Loved Texas A&M at Temple. Noticed that their Step 1 scores are below the national average. Really liked Scott and White hospital. Relatively easy interview questions and laid back atmosphere.
They do have students on the admissions committee.
Summary of Experience:
Absolutely loved UT Southwestern. They were good enough to reschedule my interview date and I really like the tours that they offered. The interview day is pretty long, but it's a great school with lots to offer.
Summary of Experience:
Really liked Baylor. Didn't get to go on an extensive tour, but the locations that they do rotations at (Texas Childrens, VA, Ben Taub, St. Lukes) are amazing. I also really liked the 18 month basic science curriculum that gives students 8 months of flexibility in their med school career.
Summary of Experience:
No secondary application. Absolutely loved UT Houston. Ranked it 1st and am proud to be accepted. Great interview day tours and great food!
