LECOM Seton Hill Problem Based Learning Program
No essays and letters not required until invited for interview= nice.
Interviewed with a group of 6. The two interviewers were faculty PHDs, not physicians. They did not ask any generic "why medicine/DO" type of questions. They let us discuss different topics ranging from how to fix healthcare system to how to deal with noncompliant patients. Afterward there was a PBL simulation, which I found to be very fun! Because the program is small the facilities are small. I was disappointed that there was no simulation lab, standardized patient center, or access to patient care for first and second years. The library is small, but thankfully very quiet. Not sure why the ban on food and drink includes water in a bottle ....I was sooo thirsty the whole time. Unsure I like the chaos that is finding clerkships. Like that there are many different clubs and ways to get involved. Not sure all students seem happy there, but then again medical school is rough...maybe I caught them on a bad day. Seton Hill is truly a beautiful campus (had that hogwarts sort of feel) and I feel that it would make a fine place to live and grow.

I'm in!!!!! Will probably choose this school over LECOM because it's close to home. Now the hard part, deciding whether I should live with the parents or get an apartment...
Late AACOMAS App, but very excited about interview. They invite for interviews even without the secondary and do not require a letter from DO.
Absolutely loved this school! I was in the afternoon session so it began with an introduction/DCP preview/lunch/tour and then interviews from 1-4. The staff was very friendly and I enjoyed the short preview to DCP (their PBL program). The student "ambassadors" that gave the tours were very kind and informative. I enjoyed learning about the scholars program. The facilities are clean and they have many resources such as the ICC (standardized patients/simulator) and a cadaver lab that is open until very late (about 8 per body). I think the DCP facilities are cramped, but I like that they are always open and that the walls are entire white boards. The lecture hall for LDP students is your standard large lecture hall (kind of dreary).
The interview portion was afterward and of course with all my anxiety I was second to last. The interviewer was faculty phd who asked your standard set of why medicine. I think it went well. Hoping for the best.
