Summary of Application Experience
I am an African American male, born and raised in inner city Brooklyn, and trying to make this dream a reality.
There are many ways to get into medical school and it seems that the traditional way is not going to work out. What seems to be working though is going through a post-baccalaureate program linked to a medical school. As long as it gets me to my end result, which is becoming a doctor, I will do whatever it takes to make it into reality.

UPDATE 09/03/13: I am currently in the MEDPATH program, doing well so far!! I am excited for this opportunity and I am certainly making the most of it!!! I will do whatever I have to do to be successful. For everyone, in a similar position, please do not give up hope!! If this truly is your dream and passion, go after it with all you have in you and you will be successful. Apply for some post-baccalaureate programs at different medical schools that offer conditional acceptance to their school. They really are great programs. The AAMC website has compiled the different post-bac programs in the country and you will find a program that will suit your needs. GOD BLESS!!!!!
UPDATE 06/27/2014: Just wanted to give a final update as to my status in the MEDPATH post-baccalaureate program. I officially got above the MCAT score needed and maintained a GPA well above the 3.0 throughout the year. I am currently finishing out the Summer Pre-Entry Program which is going well (4 more days!!!), to which I will be officially done with the program and ready to begin medical school. Truly, it is a dream come true. I am proof that it's ok if you dont get in the first time. Something will show up; just keep your eyes open and watch God open the door for you. I am officially apart of The Ohio State University College of Medicine Class of 2018!!!!!
