Summary of Experience:
Applied on a whim because one of my roommates is from NC and raved about it, however, I had trouble accessing the secondary and just gave up trying.
Summary of Experience:
I wish I had not applied here. If you need to weed down your list get rid of Brown. They accept the majority of students from feeder-type programs.
Summary of Experience:
They rejected me at a point in this cycle when I was not used to getting rejected. However, I feel like they could be more competitive than others schools, which I would not like.
Summary of Experience:
Applied because I worked closely in college with a professor at UCLA and I would have loved to go visit her at the interview, but I never have pictured myself living in California.
Summary of Experience:
I applied to this program because I have down a lot of work with the underserved and hope to continue that work. In the end, I just never heard back from them and decided to withdraw.
Summary of Experience:
Just another good school in NYC I decided to apply to. There was a point i was so sick of interviews and have not heard back from them so i just withdrew.
Summary of Experience:
They require such specific letters of recommendation. In hindsight, I should have looked into this before submitting my application.
Summary of Experience:
By the time i got this interview I had already been to Chicago and was sick of interviewing. I am also pretty frugal and Evanston seems like a very expensive, suburban kind of place.
Summary of Experience:
Heard their interviews have good food and they give out more scholarships than other schools. Did not attend because they jusat interview so many people.
Summary of Experience:
I could not believe I got an interview here! I did not attend because I had already gotten accepted into Mayo and could not justify taking more time off work and spending more money, instead I got my hair done and took my boyfriend on a great date!
Summary of Experience:
I really really really really wish I had gotten this interview earlier. I kind of regret not going. They offer really decent scholarships and my PI, who happens to be the coolest doctor in the world, went there.
Summary of Experience:
I would have been really happy here and was really serious about interviewing. I am from Minnesota and would love to stay in the area and have always liked Milwaukee.
Summary of Experience:
The reason I did not attend the interview was because class starts so early. I am currently doing AmeriCorps and would have had to leave months early to attend school.
Summary of Experience:
Although I am from Minnesota, I had some personal issues I had to face on this trip that were really hard. I bombed my MMI because I just didn't care and wanted to be as far from San Fran as I could. I originally did not even want to apply, but on of my professors told me to and then I decided to go because they are more selective when it comes to who they interview.
Summary of Experience:
I hated my interview at Georgetown and withdrew within seconds of my first acceptance. At my interview, they literally said that they are so expensive you would be better off going to your state school if you got in there, and only go to Georgetown if that was not an option.
Summary of Experience:
I felt like the people at Cornell were harder or me to relate to than other schools. My interview experience here was perfectly average and I learned how to work a Kerig machine!
Summary of Experience:
I wish Mayo had Club Med (I think it's called). More than anything what I came away from during the interview was that Yale was fun! I felt my interviews could not have gone better and was rather surprised to be waitlisted.
Summary of Experience:
It was probably my least favorite of the NYC schools I interviewed at. They had a surpise MMI part of their interview I did not appreciate.
Summary of Experience:
My first interview and on my way there lost a contact and had to go through the whole thing barely being able to see out of one eye. Since it was my first interview, I was so excited about UChicago and spent more time considering it and the prospect of living there more than many other schools. I really liked a lot of things about it, but in the end, they "continue" most people which is annoying.
Summary of Experience:
We were told "Columbia loves students who love Columbia" at the interview. I really did not like the idea that to get in I needed to send them letters of intent every month. I would rather go to a medical school that does not play games.
Summary of Experience:
Mayo was always my dream school. I can not believe I got in! It was a rough ride. I was sent an LOR request later than a lot of people on SDN, was offered an interview weeks later than anyone in my LOR group (I think I even convinved myself at this point Mayo was stupid and I did not want to go there), was ranked months after I interviewed, was placed on hold for a week (cried a bit) until they finally called and accepted me! For those applying, just hang in there!
Summary of Experience:
I honestly would have been really happy at my state school. I went here for undergrad and know so many people and after spending so many interviews where the vast majority of people attended the most elite ivy leagues, I know you are able to make just as much and go just as far or further by attending a state institution instead of somewhere fancier. However, it is simply and surprisingly more expensive than a lot of other schools.
Summary of Experience:
I loved my experience at Dartmouth and would consider attending if it were not for Mayo. I had a great experience here and they have good financial aid. The only thing I did not like would be having to run all over the country to complete rotations.
Summary of Experience:
Loved Wisconsin. I would have been so happy to attend. The school and hospital were great and Madison would be an awesome place to live!
