Brief Profile:
Oldhead ... applying ... not much clinical, but some ... good amount of volunteering/service related stuff ... just a slightly above average applicant that happens to be black and male.
Summary of Experience:
Interview scheduled for 12/12. Submitting late is definitely holding me back from getting interviews. As of 11/7, no rejections though. Secondaries cost way too much.
UPDATE: Had a second interview here where they wanted to hear more about my commitment to becoming a physician especially w/ regard to my lack of clinical experience. I didn't have much more clinical experience so ... the conversation, while cordial, did not go greatly. I do not expect to be admitted especially with this school's high regard for the CNA/EMT experiences.
Summary of Experience:
Withdrew after Michigan acceptance. H/P/F in first two years is a downer; DC is expensive and nothing but loans for financial aid = :/
Summary of Experience:
Deferred. And not happy about it. Going to write a letter through the website, but post interview this was my first choice. Staying optimistic.
UPDATE: ACCEPTED ... Unless Va Tech offers me a full scholarship, Nia Long and a lifetime supply of Chipotle, I'll be MATRICULATING.
On second thought, there are some more things to consider i.e $$ and proximity to people that I care about. This decision is going to take longer than I anticipated.
Summary of Experience:
MMI was great. Traditional part, not so much. I think I still have a shot. Hoping to get an acceptance. Marginally a third choice below UNC.
After considering resources per student given the small size of the school and the Step 1 scores, this school went ahead of UNC.
Still not accepted however. Have to wait until March 27th.
Just got accepted. Feeling a bit anxious about the decision -- have to wait for financials to come out.
Financials were cool but not ... unreal. 15K. Going to Michigan, but I really liked the program.
