Summary of Application Experience
Major: Physiology Minors: Theatre, Social Studies of Medicine
Clinical Volunteering The strongest part of my application is definitely my clinical experience. I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to shadow for over 180 hours. In addition to that, I have about 500 hours of clinical volunteer work alongside physicians. I also volunteered at a slum in Peru alongside Patch Adams. Definitely the most fun experience.
Research: 1 semester of research experience, published a thesis.
Publications: 2 publications in journals I am now on the editorial board of (but was not in the year they were published)
ECs: Editorial board of 2 journals, Substantial journalism, journ. internship, taught theater at a summer camp, voice lessons, first aid team, wrote a play that was performed at my college
LORs: Premed advisor, PI, physiology prof, and my volunteer supervisor at the hospital, English prof for schools that required a non-science prof letter.
Summary of Experience:
Had a tough interviewer who grilled me and seemed to look down on my extra-curriculars for being unconventional. He also didn't ask me for any questions about my hopes in pursuing a medical career. Not feeling hopeful about this one.
