Summary of Application Experience
I know I have a lot of \"Reach\" Schools for my numbers. I care a lot about quality curriculum, so I\'m taking a chance with some of the fancy schools. I know that you learn the same stuff everywhere but you might not learn it from people with a good attitude. We\'ll see what happens! If I\'ve left off some schools that have a great approach (and where I might have a chance) let me know while there\'s still time!
Expenses so far: 6/19: Primaries: $738 8/10: Secondaries: $1285 so far, about $350 left to spend! Running out of money, might leave off the last few secondaries. 9/10: $400 for a nice new suit 9/12: $418 to fly to DC for USUHS interview. Stayed with host who fed me, so not too much other cost there. 10/12: $12 to park at OHSU, otherwise this interview was free! :)
Summary of Experience:
Seems like a great school but I ran out of money for secondaries and it's way too expensive for OOSers. Oh well, maybe for residency!
Summary of Experience:
SS: 8/2; SC 8/6; LOI 10/24; I am very interested in the PORTAL program and this school looks great! Hope I get a chance to interview there.
Summary of Experience:
SS: 8/10; SC: ; LOI sent 9/28; Small pooled 10/14; II 1/10; W 1/22. This withdrawal was hard because UVM seems fantastic. But compared to OHSU it's way too expensive & too cold. Also too hard to move my family that far.
Summary of Experience:
SS: 7/2; SC: 7/3; II: 8/7; IA 9/13; A 11/1; W 1/9. Did not get a spot in the PHS, so withdrawing application. I was very surprised by how nice and laid back everyone seemed. Definitely not a very apparent "military culture." The interviewers were very kind and approachable and I enjoyed our conversations a lot.
