Summary of Application Experience
Rough start in college, but worked hard to improve my GPA and studied my butt off for the MCAT. I know my numbers still aren\'t that great but I\'ve held strong relationships and activities throughout college. Hopefully these will outshine my low GPA.
Activities:
-3 years of research: Two in a genetics lab, one and ongoing in the department of family medicine of IU. Projects in the third world including Honduras and Haiti. Extensive travel.
-Co-founder of my university\'s first Catholic Student Organization, board member every year thus far
-Volunteered since my freshman year at my local Catholic church. Everything from the choir, the homeless ministry, haiti ministry, and student outreach
-Member of various student organization including two Honor Societies, International Club, and College Mentors for Kids
-Academic mentor for general biology and organic chemistry, leading recitation sections for each class
-60 hours shadowing a family physician.
Total volunteer hours approach ~4000 hours.
Fingers Crossed.
