Brief Profile:
Non-traditional applicant. I graduated with a BA in History originally intending to go to law school. Graduated with honors, decided not to apply to law schools, and investigated medicine. Returned to school to take the pre-reqs with a do-it-yourself post bac, got a job, got engaged, bought a house, got married, started taking classes toward a BS as a requirement of my employer. Finally decided to actually apply after moving away from medicine for a few years.

Summary of Application Experience
I had few EC\'s that are considered necessary for admission to medical school: no research, no shadowing, a little tutoring during undergrad, no leadership and I started hospital volunteering after submitting my application. I applied EDP for this reason, expecting to have to apply next cycle anyway. It worked out for me, as I was accepted by my first choice school through their Early Decision Program. I believe my non-traditional status helped my application, including my job as an armed security guard in post-Katrina New Orleans.

Summary of Experience:
This was my first choice mostly because it is the closest school to my house. I also like the large class size, traditional curriculum and local reputation. Interview was very laid back and low-stress, and I talked to a handful of MS2\\\'s who were very friendly.
