Summary of Application Experience
AMCAS verified 9/17 Submitted secondaries between 9/18 and 12/15. Sent update letters in Jan. to schools with applications completed earlier in the cycle. No interview invites as of Jan. 21, preparing for reapplication- this time I will submit MUCH EARLIER. First interview invite 1/23/12- late in the cycle, but I\'ll take it- Go Drexel Dragons! : ) Second interview invite 1/26/12- THRILLED to get an interview at UMass!!
I feel so lucky to have gotten 3 interview invitations and even luckier that I am sure I would be really happy at any of those three schools. I think since it\'s March, it\'s unlikely that I\'ll get anymore invitations, so I\'ll be holding my breath until I get good news. It was easier to plan to reapply this June when I only had one interview, but now I\'m considering waiting to see what will happen this cycle and then spending another year living life and preparing to reapply before going through this process again.
Even though it\'s already 3/9, I\'m hoping I might get one more interview invitation from one of the 4 schools I haven\'t heard from. I\'m trying really hard to wait patiently to hear from the schools where I\'ve interviewed- I wouldn\'t expect any responses before the beginning of next month.
I got a rejection email from Einstein (3/26), which was faster than I expected to hear. And now I\'m very nervous about the fact that I am waiting to hear from two schools and really have no sense about whether I\'ll even be going to school next year. Not having an acceptance in April is not fun. I\'m trying to make alternative plans for next year while still staying positive about the fact that I could still get an acceptance from Drexel or UMass.
As of 4/27, I am waitlisted at Drexel and have been rejected from UMass. I really loved Drexel, so I am hopeful that after 5/15 I will be pulled off the waitlist. Fingers crossed.
It\'s the first week of August and orientation has started at Drexel. I was never pulled off the waitlist :(. When I got 3 interviews, I stopped preparing to reapply, so now I am starting to make a plan for the 2013-2014 application cycle. Assessing my weaknesses, I would say that my biggest weakness was timing. Everything went in way too late. Other weaknesses include my interviews- definitely a skill I can work on in the meantime, my PS score, lack of volunteering, and lack of leadership activities. I definitely feel like I have my work cut out for me this year.
Summary of Experience:
Although I haven\'t heard from Oakland, they have given out all of their interview positions, so I\'m considering myself rejected. Received official rejection email 2/22.
Summary of Experience:
Sent a letter of interest 3/8- very late, but the admissions website says invites go out until 3/31 and interviews happen through the start of April.
Summary of Experience:
Turned in my secondary super late here, so did not have much hope but was THRILLED to receive an interview invitation for February. I CAN\'T WAIT!!
The facilities here are amazing. I love that the medical school is attached to the hospital and the new curriculum seems great.
I am really sad about this rejection- I thought my interviews went really well, so I was hoping to at least be put on the wait list. I sent them an update letter/letter of intent about a week and a half before I heard.
Summary of Experience:
Pre-interview hold. Sent update letter in Jan. Update never was acknowledged, but interview invite by status change came a week later.
Orientation started this week... so I suppose I have been rejected.
