Summary of Application Experience
Hopefully my profile will help ease some stress for someone applying in the future. I am testament that you do NOT have to have a 32 MCAT to get into an allopathic program. I would have been very happy at a DO or an MD program, so it was great to have options and pick the school that was the best fit for me. Don\'t have cookie cutter ECs: I am a horseback rider and instructor, a SCUBA diver, bartender, volunteer EMT, I dance Argentine tango with my husband, and work full-time in the medical field.. I had so much to talk about in interviews because of my great experiences. Don\'t be afraid to take some time off and get some \"real\" life experiences under your belt. If being a physician is the path for you, then medical school will be there waiting when you\'re ready for it. Life is awesome -- live it to the fullest :)
Summary of Experience:
Really like that this program offers a choice of curricula -- PIL and IFM. Not crazy about the lottery system for the 3rd and 4th year clerkships, but I was told they will try to work with you if you need/want to stay in Philadelphia. Love the available technology and the students seemed very happy there.
Summary of Experience:
Withdrew. Everyone at the school seemed to love it and I really wanted to as well (as it\'s one of my state schools), but I couldn\'t get past 1. mandatory attendance and 2. no technology available for students (ie. computerized patients, simulators, etc) which was something I was really looking for in a program.
