10/27/11: Got an interview invite for MD-only. I called today to find out if they had made a decision on my MD/PhD application and they told me that my file must have been placed in the wrong pile. So they\'re sending my file over to the MD/PhD committee and they\'re revoking my interview invite. Kind of a bummer, huh?
8/22/11: I called the MD/PhD office today to inquire as to why my status says \"MD/PhD application is incomplete. They said that it must still be processing and that I should be fine as long as all of my application materials are turned in.
8/24/11: Called again today to find out why I am still incomplete. It turns out that the administrative assistant has been on vacation for the past two weeks and now has a giant stack of applications to file. lol.
9/15/11: Apparently the received 500 applications this year (for 14 spots). So I didn\'t make the MD-PhD cut, but I sent an email to the admissions office to request that I still be considered for the MD-only program.
9/7/11: After 3 weeks of waiting for them to finally mark my letters of recommendation complete, I decided to email the admissions office. They thanked me for my email and promptly marked my letters as received.
9/8/11: Finally complete!
9/13/11: Today I received an email that my MSTP application was almost complete and that I needed to select 1-3 key words (from a list) that describe my research interests. So I did that promptly. However, I\'m not feeling too hopeful because WashU is the most out of my league (based on stats).
9/8/11: After 18 days of being in the \"MD Screen\" my status changed to \"MD and MSTP application process complete. My Application Status MSTP and MD Application Process Complete Thank you for your interest in the MD and MSTP programs at Pritzker.\" Though I haven\'t received the official rejection letter, I feel like it\'s coming. =(
11/11/11: Rejected MSTP, I chose not to opt for MD-only consideration because they are way too concerned about stats and not about the person behind the numbers. puke.
8/22/11: I\'m just waiting for Mayo to receive all of my rating sheets and then I will be complete. Hopefully they\'ll get them by the end of the week.
10/4/11: Mayo finally received my last rating sheet. I\'m crossing my fingers hard, though I\'m not expecting anything. I would love the opportunity to interview at this amazing school...
10/4/11: I almost crapped my pants when I saw the email that said my status has changed and that I should check my status page. It was sent at 10:30 PM. I can\'t believe that I got a secondary! Only 20-25% of applicants receive a secondary. I feel complete. =)
10/11/11: This might be the only application that I complete within the suggested 2 week turnaround period. But alas, I\'m exhausted because it is 1:53 a.m. At least now I can dream about how amazing it would be to get an interview here.
12/20/2011: Rejected on my birthday, ouch! Their computer should have a program that delays rejections if they are intended to be sent on an applicant\'s birthday.
I\'m jumping through hoops to verify my residency right now. It\'s kind of a bummer that the app won\'t be considered complete until all the paperwork is filled out and filed.
8/29/11: They finally received my letters of recommendation today. Now I\'m just waiting on the residency verification.
9/2/11: My secondary application is finally complete!
9/9/11: I finally submitted my preliminary MSTP application.
9/14/11: Passed the preliminary screen and got the actual secondary!
10/10/11: Submitted the actual secondary. Crossing my fingers now.
10/21/11: Just got an MD-only interview. I\'m super excited, but I don\'t know what the deal is with my MSTP application. Last time I checked, my MSTP app is scheduled for committee review. Oh well, MD at UW would be a dream!!!
1/11/12: OMG! I can\'t believe it. I\'m still in shock. Although it is somewhat humbling to think that I am probably competing for a spot on their wait list. But at least if I make the top of the wait list, I have a good chance of getting in... It appears that at least 3 people made it off of the wait list last year.
9/14/11: it is approximately 3 am on the morning that my OHSU secondary app is due. I just submitted and I am not looking forward to the long day of work ahead of me. =(
9/30/11: First interview invite!!! Choices = Oct. 19-20 or Oct. 26-27.
10/27/11: 56 interviews and only 3 spots - talk about awful odds! With that said, I had a good time. The MMI was actually kind of fun.
5/11/2012: Waitlisted, number 58 :(
6/14/2012: Accepted!!! And, of course, ATTENDING!!!
