Summary of Application Experience
I applied two years ago to MUSC and LSU New Orleans and did not even receive a secondary. I have not taken the MCAT in the past two years and am sure my score will not help out at all. I also decided to apply to DO schools. I know that they take lower MCAT scores, but I also learned that they focus on training primary care physicians. Since I have always wanted to be a family doctor, applying to an Osteopathic Medical school is a logical step for me. I started applying late July/early August. All my secondaries have been sent in, except for Howard, haven't received one fromt them yet. I'll be lucky if I get any interviews although I really really really want to go! March 10 2005: I ended up getting offered 4 interviews (3 Osteopathic (Withdrew interviews at 2), 1 Allopathic) with an acceptance at 1 Osteopathic and 1 Allopathic. I haven't even been doing anything medical related in the past three years. There is hope for everyone!
