Brief Profile:
Poor undergraduate GPA due to no direction early in my career. Ended my undergrad with excellent grades after realizing that medicine is what I wanted to do. I have been an EMT for 3 years and worked full-time for an ambulance service while attending school one year. Full-time emplyment began to negatively impact my grades so I left that job for a position in a busy Emergency Department for one year. Now I am applying to medical schools and hope to become a DO.

Summary of Application Experience
Really disappointed by my MCAT Biology score, considering I was the most confident in Bio and it was my strongest section on all of my practice tests by far, usually an 11. That score left me shocked. I was hoping for 30-31, in which case I would have applied to Univ. of Wisconsin and Medical College of WI, but after results I choose not to. I really want to go the DO route anyway so I guess not applying to those schools is not a big deal, just would have been nice to be near home. I was banking on a solid MCAT to help balance out my low GPA. I’m really hoping the admissions committees take upward trends seriously. I am not the same person I was when I began my undergrad. So, poor udergrad GPA with strong upward trend and extensive patient care experience as an EMT for ambulance service and Emergency Department is the summary of my application.
