Summary of Application Experience
April '04 MCAT. This process is extremely expensive, but travelling is fun.
I withdrew from schools I knew I wouldn't attend after receiving an acceptance from one of my favorites. I then received an in-state acceptance and withdrew my remaining open applications.
Dartmouth was on my primary application but I never completed the secondary they sent in late August.
I never received a formal hold from Baylor, Wash U, or the University of Vermont. In fact, I never received any further correspondence as of withdrawal in mid-November.
I have completed the process. I am fortunate enough to have been accepted by multiple attractive schools fairly early on. Early application was essential. LORs were by far the slowest component of the application.
There were many surprises during the interview process. Some of my favorite schools on paper weren't so good in person. Some schools I initially viewed as backups became my favorites.
