Summary of Experience:
chicago is awesooooome. fantastic area surrounding the northwestern med campus. right in the heart of chicago. felt very safe walking around. the school itself is sweet, a brand new women\'s hospital, a children\'s tower to be completed in 2012. great facilites, happy students, good curriculum. downfalls: hospital is really swanky, dunno about the diversity in patient population (tho they have a trauma 1 center), curriculum is kinda traditional, don\'t see patients til year 3 from what i can tell, but they have a brand new skills lab for you to train in. i\'d be very happy here
Summary of Experience:
awesome school, amazing location, school has a lot of new things going for it (new dorms, new neuro building coming, new peds tower coming). love the new 1.5/2.5 curriculum, students were friendly and enjoyed their time. the school funds parties for the students after each exam (haven\'t seen that before). fingers crossed
Summary of Experience:
great school, great experience overall. loved the 5 hospitals on one campus shtick. awesome new peds hospital, plus free fifth year if you choose to take it. students seem extremely relaxed and happy, impressive faculty as well. i\'d be happy to go here
update: the inevitable waitlist, not surprised considering i botched a couple interview questions. \"..we will be reconsidering your app throughout the admissions season. this process should benefit applicants who are not offered invites b/c they may NOT have to wait until may 15th to be reconsidered.\"...thanks i guess. would love to go here
Summary of Experience:
no words can describe this school. their match list is literally just residencies at JHH, MGH or BWH. amazing new education building, students are unbelievably relaxed and friendly. oct 15?
update: sigh... their waitlist letter had my name and address on it but began with Dear Mr. mdapp12345 instead of Dear Cash_bernard. got an email from the admissions director two weeks later apologizing for the mistake..followed by a second waitlist letter properly addressed to me. Pro: impressive fact checking Con: more salt in my wounds
Summary of Experience:
GW was interesting, their track program is really cool because they basically set you up with an expert in whatever field you want for a paid internship/project over the first summer. Amazingly good opportunities for internation health and health policy. Didn\'t like that fact that the students spent 8am-4pm in lecture everyday, facilities were decent. update: trolololololololol thanks but no thanks
Summary of Experience:
Really liked case, nice school, nice city, excellent hospital resources (Uni hospitals, cleveland clinic, metrohealth, VA). its nice being the only med students in a huge city, probably comes with great perks during clerkships. Nice integrated curriculum, longitudinal anatomy class is an interesting concept. Not a lot of windows haha. the new cleveland clinic heart building is epic. more like a museum of modern art curated by MDs, than a hospital.
