Work 40-50 hours/wk (also did this through undergrad). Currently enrolled in a Public Health grad program. Double Major Bio/Psych Lots of research (~11 presentations/abstracts, 1 paper submitted for publication, another being submitted for publication) 1 yr as ED Volunteer Lots of leadership (Founder/President Neuroscience Journal Club, VP Research Club, Trained new volunteers in ED) Shadowed ~12 different specialties (~100 hours) Lots of patient contact clinical work for job (>10,000 hours) Volunteer at local homeless shelter ~ 1 yr. (4 hrs/wk)
Misc. other activities.
Second time applicant. Last year I applied to 4 MD programs, including my state program and didn\'t receive a single interview.
Took the MCAT for a second time this summer. Very frustrating, I ended up with the same overall score.
