Summary of Application Experience
The one piece of advice I can offer to future applicants is the importance of getting your materials in EARLY. I feel that the major difference between my first application and my second application was timing, as I had taken the August MCAT during my first app cycle. Make sure to get those applications in early, and apply to a broad range of schools. Also, really evaluate your own application and try to pinpoint the unique strengths you have that would set you apart from all the other cookie-cutter premeds that have a million hours of research and volunteer experience. These are the things schools are looking for when they indicate they want 'diversity' within their classes. Aside from that, make sure to visit www.studentdoctor.net so you can share your frustration about the application process with others going through the same ordeal!
