Summary of Experience:
Pleasantly surprised. Curriculum is PBL-heavy, but rotating PBL groups was reminiscent of Case Western. Upper East Side Manhattan is really nice, and the metro is about a ten minute walk away.
The dorms are a little old, but I mean for $650 for a single in the area, you can\'t beat it.
Class cohesiveness seems really good.
Definitely impressed overall.
Received the \"Are you still interested in us?\" email, but withdrew because of Duke acceptance.
Summary of Experience:
Longest interview day, but exceptional experience! It was my first group interview, which was somewhat nervewracking, but it was interesting to hear other applicants\' answers.
The campus is gorgeous, sprawling, and definitely has enough to do for four years. I was pleasantly surprised by Atlanta.
I really like their curriculum set up (similar to UVA\'s NextGen), and Grady is awesome. You can tell the students all really enjoy their rotations, and Emory\'s emphasis on the clinical side of medicine is obvious.
Summary of Experience:
Alma mater, so love this school!
Pittsburgh is a great city to be in your twenties, although I can see why many people might say things like, \"Well, it\'s no NYC or LA or whatever.\" In my opinion, it has everything you need. And I mean UPMC has the most ridiculous medical opportunities for anyone from the high school up through the professional level.
Summary of Experience:
New Medical Education building is awesome - classrooms are comfortable, and students seem very happy.
Obviously, location is a bit questionable, although none of the students said they were particularly concerned with their safety on campus (stadium lighting at night!)
Summary of Experience:
Interview day the most unstructured I\'ve encountered. Did not feel that the admissions office particularly made the effort to make the visit pleasant.
On-campus housing is pretty awesome, but that was the only major plus. And kosher food at the cafeteria was tasty.
Overall, though, not very impressed by this school.
Summary of Experience:
Thought I bombed the interview, but obviously did all right...
Love Charlottesville and the curriculum for the most part (not a huge fan of the rotations away from campus, although I didn\'t hear any students complaining about it).
Curriculum revamped last year to incorporate more innovative teaching methods, awesome SIM center...students were very enthusiastic.
Summary of Experience:
I was terrified of the MMI before I got there, but once we got started (minus the first station, which I completely had no idea what was going on/was completely unprepared), it was surprisingly enjoyable.
The tour was a little lacking (would have liked to see more of the hospital), but the tour guides were enthusiastic and answered all our questions well.
The \"vibe\" at the school is great.
I like their curricular style because it pretty much incorporates every type of teaching style, so if you hate PBL or lecture, you\'re not doing it always.
Summary of Experience:
Very impressed by the faculty interviewers and admissions people. Beautiful campus, and DUMC is awesome.
That being said, still somewhat wary of the condensed first year curriculum (although my worries were alleviated A LOT from talking to MS-IIIs who didn\'t feel their prep for Step1s suffered).
Summary of Experience:
Loved the curriculum. Admissions people (Dr. Mehta and Christian) are AWESOME and they make it clear that they take the time to go over each individual application thoroughly.
