Brief Profile:
Moved around a lot, love people and culture. Always had an affinity to science. Between science and people I felt medicine would be a great area to persue a career. Shadowed an MD and a DO and decided to exclusively apply to Osteopathic Schools. I\'m pretty excited to apply.

Summary of Application Experience
AACOMAS verified: 6/14/10 TMDSAS verfied 7/1/10 7/15/10 - Chicago, Des Moines, Virginia, New Jersey, and Touro California were all very quick on sending secondary requests. Washington was too but if you\'re not a Pacific Northwest resident you can\'t return a secondary app. until December 1st. 8/9/10 - Des Moines - email received saying due to large volume of applicants my file will be reviewed later in the coming months... possibly a nice rejection email? 8/17/10 - just took a tour of Midwestern campus. A Midwestern graduate now in NJ for residency loved Chicago with rotations downtown. Lots of exposure, unlike NJ med students who always seemed shocked at the learning hospital\'s workload and cases. He called NJ students lazy. 09/20/2010 - received nice formal letter of rejection from Midwestern U. 10/15/2010 - LECOM interview was fun! Group of 7 people with two interviewers. First the D.O. Interviewer grilled us on the date Stills founded the first school and to describes the four tenets of osteopathy and asked how many were there... none of us knew how many but we rattled off osteopathic philosophy in general :) then he asked a hypothetical ethics question about Viagra and began cracking jokes about watching CSI and eating ice cream. 10/19/2010 - Touro Mare Island interview. 3 interviewers, 4 applicants. They told us beforehand that it is open file and that they want to see how you handle stress. A Doctor is stressed all the time. Which can motivate and be good if you know how to manage it. In the interview they want to see if you can manage stress. Ie: Do you ramble? Can you make a concise, organized argument under pressure? 10-23-2010 - LECOM accepted me. Erie, PA, I like having to wear a tie, I did it for two years in Brazil, the athletic facility is awesome, research seems readily available, vey high COMLEX pass rates, it\'s cheap and a slower pace of life, perfect for my growing family. I would only take a Northwest school over LECOM.
