Summary of Application Experience

The General Background, Blah Blah Blah...
-Apparently being vague is the way to go...about 900 hours of clinical experience plus another 5 years of on-the-job related experience.

I will happily update this later in the cycle.

APRIL/MAY
4/23/10 - Took the MCAT. FINALLY!. I tried to take a TPR class last year, but because I had not finished all of the pre-req classes yet I felt hopelessly lost. This time, I felt much more prepared and even felt as though if I only had another few months, I could have rocked the test hard. My MCAT class this time was also incredibly nice, small, and supportive. I am hoping all 11 of us do really well. The previous class frightened me a bit. 40 people and about 30 of them (whether they knew it or not) hated humankind and I would never allow them to be my physician.

5/27/10 - Got MCAT scores back.....Perfect score in the writing section!!!! However, I BOMBED Verbal, at least for me. I had not gotten less than a 10 in Verbal since my third (of 12) practice test. I am a little peeved, and have considered taking TPR up on their guarantee just so that I can try to increase this number. I swear it is a fluke. Then again...so was the PS score. I have NEVER gotten as high as a 10, so I should be happy.

5/30/10 - Instead of partying for memorial day, I am writing my personal statement. It is pure agony. Worse than the MCAT. Seriously.

JUNE

6/1/10 - Submitted AMCAS App at 9pm. I am happy that I submitted on the first day so that I never regret being \"late\"

6/7/10 - Verified by AMCAS. They dropped my sGPA by about 0.1 and my cGPA by 0.06 from previous calculations. Sucks. Now I wish I had taken some underwater basketweaving to up my GPA. Too bad I have so many units. I will say that those overall stats up there don\'t look too shabby, and I am starting to get excited about this process!

6/18/10 - Working on the Columbia Secondary which is up already. I have finished UVM and Boston U already and I am halfheartedly working on the beast that is UCSD in the hopes that I get it. Calculus is kicking my butt in summer school and I hope to pre-write a couple more secondaries this weekend so that I can relax. I hate that this log makes me sound like a gunner.
