Summary of Application Experience
When I submitted my AMCAS I chose schools based on only 2 criteria: letters of recommendation and GPA/MCAT statistics. I had no non-science professor recommendation available at the time.
I got 2 additional letters in the following 2 weeks. I got secondary invites from Boston and George Washington University right away. However, upon reviewing the course requirements I couldn\'t fill out the secondary for GWU because I did not have enough physics laboratory courses.
I got NYMC secondary invite in the third week of September. Only asked for recommendations.
In the last week of September my AMCAS was finally verified. Schools began to send their secondary invites in. I was also unqualified for St. Louis due to the physics lab requirements.
I went back to UW on the day before Autumn quarter begins to sign up as a non-matriculated student in order to take 2 more physics lab courses in the same quarter. This would open up more opportunities for me and I would not have to give up for any schools I have applied to.
