January 2010: MCAT taken
February 2010: Scores back (29Q). Very disappointed to not get at least a 30. I was pleased with my biology score, not surprised by the physics score, but really bummed about my verbal score. I had regularly been scoring 14s in Verbal during practice tests. Oh well, I can\'t afford to re-take it.
May 2010: Graduation!
July 2010: Move to Africa with the Peace Corps as Rural Community Health Volunteer.
January 2011: Submit information to Wellesley College Medical Professions Advisory Committee (MPAC). This process has officially started!
March 2011: All LORs are complete and turned in!
May 5: Begin working on AMCAS. This is going to be fun!
May 28: Finish filling in AMCAS. Begin editing and re-reading process. June 1st is just around the corner!
June 4: SUBMITTED.
June 8: STILL waiting for my last transcript to arrive. GETTING FRUSTRATED.
June 9: All transcripts have been received! Yay!
June 15: Still waiting on verification. Only 2 days before the first wave goes out!
June 16: Verified!
June 21: Tulane secondary received...they don\'t honor the FAP...so I\'ll be withdrawing my app here. That was a waste of one of my 14 free schools.
June 23-30: Received secondaries from University of Nebraska, Baylor, Jefferson, Cincinnati, Rosalind Franklin, Pritzker
July 1: Received secondaries from University of Kansas and Creighton
July 9: Submitted secondary to University of Nebraska!
July 10: Submitted secondary to Pritzker!
July 11: Submitted secondary to Creighton! Waiting on the others due to computer issues, etc...and my committee letter is still in the works...grrrr.
July 13: Submitted secondary to Kansas! Received secondary from Carver! Committee letter was uploaded to AMCAS! Woohoo!
July 18: Rejected from University of Nebraska. First rejection. Wa-wa. There\'s an option to appeal, but I don\'t have the energy and I doubt it\'ll make much of a difference. Sigh.
July 20: Received secondary to Mizzou and Stritch-Loyola.
July 21: Submitted secondaries to Jefferson, Cincinnati, Iowa-Carver, and Mizzou. Considering withdrawing from Rosalind Franklin...the secondary is cheesy and long.
July 21, later: Just rejected from Pritzker. This is depressing although not unexpected. Sigh.
July 22: Submitted secondary to Rosalind Franklin (CMS) and appealed rejection from UNMC. We\'ll see how this goes...
July 23: Submitted secondary to Loyola-Stritch School of Medicine. Considering not finishing the Baylor secondary. I can\'t really afford it and the chances of acceptance are low...feeling dejected.
July 25: Drexel secondary received
July 27: Feinberg secondary received
July 31: submitted Drexel and Feinberg secondary. Complete at CMS and Carver. All secondaries are submitted! It\'s out of my hands now.
August 2: Interview invite request from Nebraska! Selected my three top choices for dates and submitted. Yay!
August 4: Interview at UNMC scheduled for October 21st!
August 25: Haven\'t heard from any other schools yet. Thinking about sending an update letter since I\'ll only be in the states from September 30th until November 8th.
August 28: Sent a few in the area emails and checked on statuses of all schools. Officially complete everywhere (unsure about Mizzou but I emailed to ask)
September 2: Interview invite for Drexel and complete at Mizzou!
September 6: Interview invite for Loyola!
September 16: Interview invite for Mizzou
September 20: Happy birthday to meeeee!
September 23: Interview invite for KU (best birthday present EVER)!
October 1: Back in America!
October 4: Interview at Mizzou
October 10: Sent out my official \"in the area\" emails to all schools I haven\'t heard back from. Received responses from two, indicating that the interview season lasts until February. Well, I won\'t be here then so :/ oh well.
October 11: Small pooled at CMS. Probably won\'t be getting an invite from them. And I\'ll probably be back in Africa by the time I do.
October 12: Interview at KU!!!!
October 21: Interview at UNMC. LOVED IT. Gorgeous facilities and amazing profs...but no instate status given even after one year...which means crazy expensive. Worth it? I don\'t know yet. I still have to get in first!
October 24: Interview at Stritch. AWWWWWEEEEESOME. That\'s pretty much all I can say.
October 25: Officially cancelled my interview at Drexel, withdrawing myself from there. It\'s just too expensive to get out there.
October 28: Official notice of HOLD from Mizzou. Not rejected, but not accepted this month. Maybe in November. This definitely freaks me out a little, though. What if I get waitlisted everywhere? Ok, time to really think about plan B.
November 1: I\'m going back to Africa in a week, which means it\'s unlikely I\'ll get an interview invite for anytime while I\'m still in the states. This means I can effectively consider myself withdrawn from all other schools.
November 2: Officially withdrew from: Creighton, Jefferson, Cincinnati, and Rosalind Franklin. Still in the running at Northwestern and Iowa. Waiting for post interview contact from: Loyola, UNMC, and KU.
November 4: ACCEPTED TO KU!!!! I\'m gonna be a doctor! AHHHH!
November 8: Back in Africa
November 18: Still on hold at Mizzou.
November 20: Starting process to head back to America, end of Peace Corps service!
November 22: I\'m like 99% sure that I\'ll be going to KU med. It\'s the best fit for me and I\'m pretty sure it\'s where I\'ll be the happiest and most successful. That\'s all it takes!
December 29: Rejected from Cincinnati. C\'est la vie.
January 20, 2012: Rejected from Feinberg. Dang!
March 2, 2012: Finally officially rejected from Baylor...which is funny because I withdrew and never even finished the secondary.
March 09: Accepted to Missouri! They have a banging rec center, but I\'ll be withdrawing to go to KU. It\'s just so much cheaper and not that different in terms of education.
April 01: IN AMERICA. USA! USA! USA!
April 10: GOT THE KMSL at KU! This is means med school is free. Decided!
April 11: Withdrew from Mizzou.
April12: Rejected from Nebraska. Ok.
April 12: Waitlisted at Loyola. Withdrew.
April 13: Rejected from Jefferson. I had kind of forgotten about them.
