Summary of Application Experience
AMCAS Verified: Early September
I wish I would not have applied to so many schools. I was feeling really insecure with my applications as a reapplicant and felt pressure to add more and more schools to increase my odds.
Also, after receiving the UMich acceptance fairly early on, I should have withdrew from a couple schools that I was less than excited about compared to UMich. I mean, if you\'re feeling on the fence about a given school, of course, attend the interview, but I should have trusted my impressions and saved the money.

Very unique program that\'s exciting for many reasons, but I wasn\'t 100% sold on this school so I withdrew. And the cost to attend this interview was too much (bad timing with the holidays)
Summary of Experience:
SR: 9/12/11, SS: 9/20/11, C: 9/27/11, II: 11/15/11 (Extended Review email 2/27/12), WL: 3/20/12, Ranked in the top 10 of OOS waitlist, but still doesn\'t sound like I will make it off since they didn\'t use the OOS waitlist at all last year :( bumming me out..
Thoughts: I like the new changes that they are making to the curriculum including a scholarly concentration. Not sure how I feel about the PBL--I really liked it in theory but the demo we did during the interview was strange and doesn\'t seem like it would be effective when done ad nauseam. The curriculum on the whole i well balanced and organized I think. Classes are recorded, lecture hall is pretty, anatomy is year long, master options are done within the 4 years (but it occupies your last summer of your life between MS1/MS2)
Chicago is a great city and the more I explored the more I feel like I would really like a big city life for at least my medical school years. NU facilities are great too, the hospitals are huge and fancy.
Summary of Experience:
(Reapplicant) SR: 10/10/11, SS: 10/14/11, C: ~10/18/11, II: 1/26/12 (SOO excited!), WL: 5/3/12 (ranked #3 on the list) kind of disappointing..
The interview day went by really quickly and I have very nice interviewers! One thing I didn\'t know is that for years 3 and 4, rotations (can) take places at multiple different hospitals in the Twin Cities and also greater Minnesota. Very cool opportunity to see many different hospital networks.
A: 5/16/12, with a need+merit scholarship. Although I\'m grateful, the scholarship doesn\'t compare to WashU\'s offer, so UMN would still cost 3+ times as much. Sad though :( would love to stay close to home
Summary of Experience:
SR: 8/6/11, SS: 9/19/11, C: 9/29/22, II: 10/17/11, A: 1/14/12!!, (5/8/12) Just got a half-tuition scholarship!!! WOWWEE! On top of an already generous need-based package!! MATRICULATING!
Summary of Experience:
(Reapplicant) SR: 8/10/11, SS: 9/19/11, C: 11/15/11, II: 2/6/12 While visiting, I didn\'t really feel a good fit and kept feeling like I was trying really hard to like the school. If accepted, we\'ll see if my emotions tell me something different :) A: 4/19/12, W: 4/23/12 (Wasn\'t feelin\' it, too excited about WashU)
Summary of Experience:
SR: 9/12/11, II: 9/12/11, SS: 10/12/11
Accepted 11/10/11 -- so incredibly happy! I definitely get to go to medical school :D! Pressures off
W: 5/8/12, after second looks, I definitely preferred WashU. I also had a disappointing/uncomfortable experience revisiting UMich so the decision was a little easier.
