Summary of Application Experience
Comments and suggestions are welcomed!!
1st MCAT 2007(35M) 2nd MCAT 2008(41)
Applied last cycle to about 20 schools(All the Florida schools, St. Louis, WashU, Case, Emory, NYU, Drexel, Cincy, NYMC, UTSW, Baylor, Pitt, Yale. Might have left out one or two.)
Sent my secondaries in around Sep/Oct, interview at UF in Oct., SLU in Dec., and Cincy in Jan.(I applied to Cincy very late, in Nov.). Waitlisted eventually at all 3, and got into none.
I\\\\\\\'m planning to apply to more schools this year(30-40) and less top level schools. I spoke to ADCOMs to review my application, the general consensus is that I was severely lacking in terms of activities. I had few activities to start with, then made the mistake of not including any that was not clinically or research related on my AMCAS app.
8/10 AMCAS Verified
8/11 Added Pitt, Case, Rosalind Franklin, and Mount Sinai because these schools like early applications.
8/17 Added the rest of the Florida schools in addition to Wake, Albany, and Rochester
8/19 Added Vermont
8/25 Ohio State interview invite! Didn\\\\\\\'t expect this one so fast.
8/25 Added Tufts and Jefferson
8/27 FIU interview invite!
8/28 Added SUNY Downstate
8/28 Case!! I thought the week was over...then received the interview invite at 8 pm!
8/30 Added PSU and Vandy. Vandy doesn\\\\\\\'t seem to fit my profile very well, but what the heck.
9/1 Added SLU, SUNY-Buffalo, Toledo, and VCU
9/15 Finally done with secondaries! if I receive any more it\\\\\\\'ll mean more interviews :)
9/18 Wake interview invite! Called to check my status, and was told on the phone that I\\\\\\\'m in the top interview pool and that since I called, I could schedule an interview \\\\\\\"right now\\\\\\\". Apparently, they have more people in the top pool than they can interview, so if I didn\\\\\\\'t call I might have never gotten an invite. Thanks SDN!
9/18 Vandy interview via snail mail, 9/1 email, RAWR!
9/25 SLU invite! Redemption time....
9/28 USF invite! Friggin\\\\\\\' sweet!
9/30 SUNY Upstate invite! At least one of the NY schools responded :D
10/1 Downstate invite! Boy, getting some love from NY, come on Mount Sinai, follow suit! :D
10/2 UCF! Home town love!
10/5 Cincy! Same week as Case too, except 3 days apart :/ Unbelievable though, never expected all these interviews.
Summary of Experience:
P: 8/10 2R: 8/12 2S: 8/18 2C: 8/19 R: 3/16 Unexpected in the beginning, but expected by now, especially after not sending in any updates. Screw UFCOM.
Don\'t know what took them so long, because they never invite anybody who\'s been complete for more than 2-3 weeks unless you sent in the secondary before they started handing out invites

P: 8/17 2R: 8/17 2S: 9/3 2C: 9/3 R: 4/05 Dang, spent sooo much time writing the secondary and not even an interview? Not that I was going there anyway but still.
Summary of Experience:
P: 9/1 2R: 9/1 2S: 9/2 2C: 9/8 R: 10/19 First rejection, thankfully it came after I was already accepted by FIU and OSU, so it didn\'t sting at all. I guess they sensed that I was gonna withdraw soon or something, lol.
Kinda surprising that there was no email or mail or anything. I just randomly checked my status and it\'s changed from \"No Action\" to \"Non-Accept\". WTF\'s non-accept anyway?
