Summary of Application Experience
If you have suggestions for where to apply please let me know. I am applying to a lot of schools because I don\'t want to go through this twice.
April 18, 2009 - Took MCAT June 11, 2009 - Submitted application June 12, 2009 - Last transcript received June 24, 2009 - Application verified July 7, 2009 - Still waiting on 2 LORs July 23, 2009 - My last LOR should be done in the next day or so! August 15, 2009 - Three rejections and no interviews. I am starting to get very nervous. September 14, 2009 - Four interviews and four rejections. Not quite as nervous but still looking forward to an acceptance someday. October 16, 2009 - Seven interviews and seven rejections. Wow airline tickets really add up but I am taking every interview until I get an acceptance somewhere. November 14, 2009 - Just got back from interviewing and was estatic to find an acceptance letter in my email inbox. December 3, 2009 - So I have recently decided to pursue an MD/PhD and thus am once again hoping for more interviews. I have really enjoyed my research and would like to be able to some type of research throughout my entire career. Also, some people who look at my profile are probably wondering why I applied to so many schools. In short it was because of my business degree and I was told that many schools would not look favorably upon it in light of the current economic conditions. Upon attending now seven interviews, I now understand as I have actually had a couple interviewers react very negatively to my degree. However, I still managed an acceptance somewhere and am very happy. Toledo has a lot to offer and I will be very happy going there if nothing else come through between now and May.
