Summary of Application Experience
It was a very long process. I submitted my AMCAS app on July 1, 2008 and was accepted to my top choice school on June 4, 2009. There is a ton of waiting that was really frustrating for me. Obviously, it worked out though. In short, I completed 19 secondaries, received 11 interview invitations, attended 8 interviews, was initially waitlisted at 7 schools and accepted by 1. By the end, I received 3 acceptances before withdrawing from the rest of the schools. I was happy with the results, especially considering that my numbers are not that impressive.
I am proof that it can be done. Also, I would like to tell people not to fret about being on wait lists. They do move! And since I wasn't rejected by anywhere that I interviewed at, for a moment I thought no one got rejected at that stage, but that is not true. So, be happy with getting that far because there is a good chance you will get in.
