Brief Profile:
I am a nontraditional applicant. I did not start college until age 25. Between high school and college, I worked full-time, starting out mucking out stalls at a local stable and working my way up to a coordinator position in both undergraduate medical education and a patient practice at a Philadelphia medical college under one of Philadelphia magazine\'s \'Top Doctors\'. Due to my work experience I have three years of full-time patient contact, and five years total of working in the medical field.
I am majoring in Biophysics with a minor in French. I have been on the Dean\'s list every semester that I have been in college (except for those when my attendance was less than full-time) and I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa. I am reasonably fluent in French and have done a study abroad program in Paris through the Sorbonne.
I took the MCAT on June 18th (the 2PM administration) and got a 33N.
My boyfriend and I have been dating since September of 2000 and have been living together since March of 2002. He is supporting both of us while I pursue my education. For this reason, I am only applying to Philadelphia area medical colleges in my first application cycle, as we hope not to have to move away from here.
