Brief Profile:
I am a non-trad, mother of 6, pursuing medicine after an 8 year career in IT followed by 4 years at home with kids. I had a pretty poor GPA (about 3.0) after my first degree (in History, graduated in 1997), and have a 4.0 as a returning student. I\'m getting a 2nd bachelors in chemistry with a physics minor. I\'d love everyone\'s input! I\'m planning on applying to:
Rosalind Franklin University of Vermont Loyola Rush University of Illinois Commonwealth Stony Brook University of South Carolina Virginia Commonwealth EVMS Drexel NYMC GWU Temple Jefferson Georgetown Penn State SUNY Downstate University of Maryland Hopkins (I know it\'s a joke, but I\'m in Baltimore, so I can\'t not try!)
5/9 - Now I\'m really considering applying EDP to my state school (Maryland). I know that if I don\'t get in, I\'ll likely have to wait another year, but that\'s one of the benefits of being non-trad - a year doesn\'t seem that long to me! I just think we\'ll be in a better place to move in 2 years, if necessary, so just trying locally first makes sense.
8/4 - I ended up applying EDP to my state school. Completed secondary on 7/17, although 2 of my LORs still show not received. Some family stuff has come up that makes moving nearly impossible, so I\'m really crossing my fingers for this cycle!
10/15 - haven\'t updated in a while. Got letter that I had not been accepted EDP (to Maryland) on 9/16, but then got interview invite for regular decision the next day! Interviewed 9/23. It went well except that I got lost on the way to my first interview and was 30 minutes late (yikes). Hoping against hope that they\'re not holding it against me. Maybe I\'ll hear soon (yikes again).
