Summary of Application Experience
3/18/09 This is my second time applying. I got rejected from all 7 MD/PhD programs I applied to last year (not even an interview!). I\\\'m just getting this profile started. It\\\'ll be updated as I go! 3/23/09 Profile is pretty much done, any feedback on whether I stand a chance getting interviews at these schools? Any additions/deletions suggested? I\\\'m looking to do research while in med school, so strong research school suggestions would be preferred. 5/13/09 Well, I\\\'ve pretty much finalized my list of schools. My AMCAS is pretty much finished. Now, I just can\\\'t wait to finish up secondaries and get this interview show on the road. 5/15/09 Transcript 1 of 2 received by AMCAS. 5/18/09 All transcripts received by AMCAS. I\\\'m updated and ready to go! 5/26/09 I\\\'m writing some secondaries early. I hope to be working on my thesis soon, so I don\\\'t want secondaries to interfere. I\\\'m using the prompts from last year, let\\\'s hope they don\\\'t change too much! 5/27/09 Talked to my parents. Decided to reapply to UMich. Just MD though. 6/2/09 Submitted AMCAS 6/3/09 Verified AMCAS 6/23/09 First secondary, Dartmouth, a day before schools even get our primary apps! 7/12/09 A little over halfway through secondaries! 7/30/09 First interview invite! VCU, and I\\\'m not even done with secondaries yet. 8/3/09 Georgetown and UVa invites! 8/12/09 Woohoo, EVMS invite! 8/26/09 Drooling over my last three interview invites: Einstein, Case Western (CCLCM), and Dartmouth! 8/28/09 Officially planning a roadtrip to Vermont and New Hampshire. I got my UVM invite yesterday, so I\\\'m going to link the two trips. It should be fun, I have UVM on a Tuesday and Dartmouth on a Thursday. I\\\'ll have Wednesday to screw off up in NH/VT. It should be a great drive. Hopefully the trees will be changing by the time I get up there! 9/24/09 I\'ve been traveling all around for interviews. 6 in the last 3 weeks. It\'s been crazy, but I\'ve been able to see some good schools along the way. 10/17/09 ACCEPTANCE!!! I\'ve been applying since 6/2008 and I FINALLY have somewhere that I can go! I got UVA and EVMS the same day by snail mail! Ok, now I can really relax, work at my new job, and enjoy life for 10 months. 10/20/09 Withdrew my Temple and Rosalind Franklin interview invites. It was kind of a strange feeling to tell a med school no, but I was able to offer another applicant the opportunity at an interview. Enjoy! Whoever you are. 11/2/09 Mass withdrawal. This is kinda fun. Well, not really. I feel like I wasted money on those schools that I never had any contact with after I submitted my app. It does feel good to have an acceptance at one of my high choices and withdraw from the schools that didn\'t matter much to me. 12/9/09 Wow, no news in a while. I guess that\'s ok, but I\'d really like to hear from Northwestern (they told me not til march), Dartmouth, and the Cleveland Clinic (they send out decisions next week!). 4/8/10 In at Dartmouth. Man, they\'re good at the silent treatment, but I guess it worked out. 7/21/10 Looks like I\'m officially going to UVA!
