Summary of Application Experience
3/3/09 Got MCAT score today! So freaking excited that I proved to myself that I could raise my score. The verbal is my weakness, everyone has one! right?! Better be we are humans not machines!
7/2/09I just had a question>!!! Ok I have a 6 on Verbal, and I will be screened for interviews.... I am an American born citizen that is bilingual.........I WORKED a full-time job during college
How MUCH can 1 bad number with everything else to take into account hurt my application? :/ I know in the end at some schools its about numbers but I am not applying to ivy league, just texas....
7/15/09 Got the most wonderful news to INTERVIEW!!!! I was really fighting myself to take this crazy exam a 3rd time for a 6, but I asked Jesus for a sign and I just have to say I got my answer! God has always guided me every time I call on him.....he has IMPECCABLE timing!! Interviewing is my strongest skill. Lets DO THIS!
7/28/09 INTERVIEW invite from UTMB for August 14th!!!!!!Lets DO THIS TOO!! m/(~_~)m/
Me after this whirlwind of an experience: (wow never thought I would finally finish it FEELs awesome) It was over in Jan 2010 but I wanted to make sure I updated for all those who were in my shoes, there is Hope.. you betta believe it ;)
5/21/10 Well all i have to say, it is not all about 1 single number! It is truly about what you have to offer as a package hahah ok more like a human being. I.E.Your life experiences, what you have done to learn from your mistakes/struggles, or of course your numbers too but if you have gone through something in life that taught you BIG lessons this shows your humanness (what makes you memorable more than perfect numbers) ..... In all my interviews no one went without asking me about my personal statement, i must have touched them b/c my essay kept coming up! The interviewer at UTSW first comment when I walked in the room was to say how beautiful it was that I mentioned x or y and asked me to elaborate more!!! This was what literally happened in almost all my interviews.
Summary of Experience:
This was my 2nd choice. for 2 reasons: cheaper for me than U of H ( I live in Dallas) and still get the aggie network benefits with all their diff. hospitals around tx. #2 get to go to houston after 3 and 4yr with out having to pay for it the first 2 year in med school.
