Brief Profile:
-Attend monthly training days at a local family medicine residency program. -2 years volunteer/clinical experience in faith based free clinic with experience shadowing MD's and DO's -100+ hours shadowing local family practice docs -50+ hrs shadowing an orthopedic surgeon in both the clinic and OR -Active in ministries of local church, community outreach, teaching children, etc. -3+ years of teaching experience in middle and high schools as well as private tutoring...for an aspiring primary care doc I figure this is very applicable experience -4 years actively fund-raising for the MS society and the Jimmy Fund -2 years experience coaching middle and high school level track and soccer -4 semesters, full-time completing pre-med requirements while working 60-75 hours/week in addition to actively volunteering/shadowing...this has to count for something -EMT-B earned this summer so I can spend the year before school working in medicine -My GPA during undergrad is poor (3.0) but 2 years later when I returned to school for 4 full-time semesters of pre-med reqs my GPA has been about 3.9. It didnt bring up my overall much but my BCMP is decent. I am going to keep taking science courses part-time this coming year too prepare myself for the first two years or in case I need to apply again next year...
