Summary of Application Experience
9/25/08 - Have complete applications for almost all schools applied to for anywhere from 1 - 5 weeks for most. A few have been complete longer (i.e. NYMC). I'd hoped on hearing some interview news by this time and am considering sending letters of interest to my top choices (UCI, UCD, UCLA, USC) to try and get my app moved around in the pile, but I'm not sure if it is too early to play this card. Will keep reading on SDN for advice. The hard part is that, while I do have top choices - USC prolly no. 1 with any/all UC's tied for 2nd - I really just want to go somewhere. I am a re-applicant and this is my last usable cycle for current MCAT. I am hoping it will my my last app cycle.
11/16/08 - Received an interview invite to UCI a couple weeks ago. Hoorayy! I've been reading that the interview is quite relaxed but am nervous because UCI is one of my top choices. This is my first ever real medical school interview so I set up a couple of mock interviews. Hopefully they will help a lot. I also received a couple more rejections and holds but am still waiting to hear on ~20 applications.
