4/17 Officially OFFICIAL for University of Maryland.
2/20/09 Still paring down the list. About 99.9% set on Maryland. Just trying to really commit in my head.
2/3/9: Have withdrawn from quite a few schools in the last couple weeks. feels good to streamline. pretty much set on going to Maryland at this point, but would like to hear my decision from Duke. But, i think maryland is gonna win out for many reasons
.Interview Thoughts:
11/3/08 Just got back from Pitt. I think it has taken over my #1 spot, but it could be close. Not getting hopes up b/c I know how hard it will be to get an acceptance. Loved Pittsburgh. Curriculum seems a good fit. WISER is off the chain. Students seemed really chill.
10/22/08 Vermont:Burlington is beautiful. Like the idea of their curriculum. People seemed friendly. Liked how seemingly open/friendly they are to the LGBT community.
VCU: Liked it more than I thought. Not sold on Richmond. Have nice lecture halls. Not sure if they are as technologically savvy as other schools.
10/08/08---As of today, I've interviewed at 6 schools. 5 within the last 10 days which is just crazy. However, right now my faves are Jefferson, Maryland, and Georgetown.
Jefferson just clicked. Before I got to the interview day...so, as I was driving into the city and walking to the campus and around the area, it just felt really right. Like a place I'd really enjoy living. it was weird. Plus, they seem really relaxed and genuinely enthusiastic about Jeff. Downsides: Large class size (potentially a downside)
Maryland: I was surprised by how much I liked maryland. I only applied because it is my state school...but I liked it. Facilities (esp library) are gorgeous. Like the fact that it'd be cheaper and also that every afternoon is free.
G-town: like georgetown, like the philosophy, students seem to have a lot of choice, greater responsibility clinically and lots of exposure
NYMC: beautiful campus. but felt like an undergrad institution to me more than a professional school. ick. isolated.
WVU: weird that nobody talked about the school. liked the interview gift.
Ros Franklin: people were very enthusiastic. like teh philosophy. boo to long hours in classes. isolated.
