    Summary of Application Experience

Secondary process started. I'm going to take MCAT again, but of course have to wait till January. VR should go up a lot, capable of a 12 (scored 12 on prac. 2x)Still have a little shell shock from that low score (got results back last week)

VCOM, LECOM, and PCOM seem to send secondaries blindly, I have secondaries for these schools.

10/22 Realistically, it looks like I'm down to LECOM-Bradenton, PCOM-GA, Pikesville, Rocky Vista, Nova and ATSU-Mesa, but I don't really expect to know until the very last day, maybe I'll get a last minute drop out's spot.

    10/25/08 Secondaries all completed

    10/31/08 My multifaceted backup plan:
    1) Finish undergrad this semester
    2) Start working on EMT certificate at FCCJ
    3) Apply to Americorp (completed today)-hopefully get into North Florida public health corp program next year.
    4) Apply to FAMU's public health program, maybe a few others too
    5) Apply to UF's medical entomology program
    6) Take GRE Dec 22
    7) Take MCAT January 31st
    8) Complete my baccalaureate exam and thesis presentation in February

11/4/08 I got an interview invitation at PCOM-GA. I'm so excited! I go next Monday.

12/15/08 So I got my interview to VCOM request 11/9, thirty minutes before my GA PCOM interview started. I went to the scheduled interview on 12/10 after they gave me a bunch of dates to choose from. 12/12 I was accepted. So excited!! I really never dreamed I would have been accepted into VCOM. The interviews were so pleasant. We talked about my love for gardening in all three of them (surprised that this was a theme, my only mention of gardening in my application was that I worked at an organic farm, but all three of the dr.s interviewing me asked about that. I really liked the school and the students and drs I met. I'm so excited to have been given this wonderful opportunity.
