Brief Profile:
-Received Gold Medal for top graduating average in the faculty of Science for my undergrad -Numerous independent research projects completed during undergrad (Behavioural Neuroscience) -MSc. In Neuroscience with 2 high level journal pubs (1 first author, 1 2nd of 3), with a third ready for submission (update -now in print), plus conference abstracts and presentation awards -I have spent just over 2 years of my life backpacking independently and VERY cheaply through 33, mostly 3rd world, countries(not sure if that will help or hurt) -Lots of volunteer work, including 2 months at a rural health clinic in Peru. That's my only clinical volunteering though. -Applying for 2009 as I couldn't find time to study for MCAT while preparing for an August thesis defense -Lots of club officer positions and stuff like that -Plan to work in the health field during the next year while I wait (update - ended up teaching high school students instead) -Yukon resident, which means I count as in-province for both Alberta and Saskatchewan.
