Last year, I applied to 13 schools, recieved 2 interviews, accepted at UMKC, waitlisted at MU. I chose to decline UMKC because I\'m not sure how I\'d fit into their curriculum and I also got married around that same time.
This year, I have graduated with a Bachelors, increased health care experience by working as a nurse technician at a local hospital, and the biggest thing is that I am taking the MCAT again in September.
My MCAT scores were 27P and 26O, then post graduation in the end of July I studied for about 6 weeks for four hours each day and took over 10 full length exams to take the last available exam accepted for the year on September 12. Earned a 30! My target score.
I interviewed at KCUMB and was told by the Professor interviewing me that I would be accepted and what could he say to me in order to convince me to attend, which was humbling and exciting. I was shocked. I received an acceptance the following week.
Myy application this year seemed to expedited. However, the year prior I waited and waited for MONTHS!!
I only wanted to attend the University of Missouri, especially since I knew my chances were better than other places considering I was wait listed the year prior. I had a little mishap with one of my letters of recommendation in October where I had to ask another professor to write a letter since the one I originally counted on was withdrawn without my knowledge. :-)
Nevertheless, my application was complete by November. I received an interview for MU in January and by February 1st, I received an offer of acceptance to MU School of Medicine.
I will be attending there in the fall 2010.

I love this school! Amazing curriculum with statistically based reassurance.
I hope this is my year. An interviewer told me he thinks I have done everything I could possibly do in order to improve my application, so we\'ll see...
