I applied to many schools last application cycle (only Canadian schools) and I was rejected by all pre-interview save University of Alberta, which I interviewed and got declined thereafter. I'm applying to about 15 schools in total for the coming application cycle. 11 US schools and 4 Canadian: UofA, UofC, UofT, UofO and UBC.
