Summary of Application Experience
7/24 Currently, I am swamped with MD secondaries. How on earth does everyone turn those things around so quickly? Anyhow, I am thankful I got past many of the school's first 'computer screenings.'
AACOMAS is taking FOREVER to process. Thankfully, a LECOM representative has contacted me. That must mean my application has been finally processed (after 4 weeks. GEEZ, what was the hold up?)
8/9 Not really sure if going to a big city school in downtown is for me. I grew up in the surburbs my whole life and commuted to school. Have to think about my survival for four years too.
8/15 Interview at LECOM Erie. Very nice place and I really like that PBL curriculum!
8/29 Accpeted to LECOM. Alright! Will now have to narrow choice of schools. Too many secondaries to fill out. I want to spend quality time on writing those things. LECOM Erie is going to be tough to beat. I fitted in there really well. However, I promised myself that I would explore other places and make absolutely sure I find the right fit for me. (Tough b/c I might have to give up scholarship, YIKES!)
9/4 Okay, it looks like a lot of schools were interested in me.
9/30 Came back from weekend interviewing at Ohio University and LECOM Bradenton. I really liked Ohio University, but was bummed out when they told me that my file was placed on the alternate list. I got a lot of good info though from other interviewees and decided to withdraw from some schools.
11/5 Hmm... I am beginning to wonder if everything was timed. Interview at OUCOM 9/26, then offerred interview to Wright State Boonshoft 9/26 Interview at Wright State University 11/5, Offered interview from University of Cincinatti 11/5
1/4/2009 Waitlisted at Wright State University. I am beginning to hate waitlists.
1/14/2009 Waitlisted at Cincinatti. Okay, I am just going to sit back and wait. I think I did the best I could do and I did get into one good school so far. I am just going to stop hating the waitlist and contemplate. The MD schools looked good. The DO schools looked good. I wonder which school will make me the best doctor?
