    Summary of Application Experience

Just submitted AMCAS Sept. 15th. Kind of late, but oh well. Hopefully no thing weird comes up, now I get to wait.

I got verified Sept. 26th, so that was nice. I was expecting to have to wait ~6 weeks, but it didn\'t even take two. No automatic secondaries yet, but got e-mails from UT and ETSU that my application was received and being reviewed though.

It\'s October 3rd. I have been verified for exactly one week, and have gotten secondaries from 4 schools (but three were automatic) and have gotten e-mails from ten schools saying my application is under consideration (nice to know). I have returned three secondaries so far. Oh, and I also found out that Wake Forest (Awesome!!!) has sent me a secondary, but that it comes via standard post, so I may not have it for a week or two (so I guess you could say I have gotten 5 secondaries).

It\'s October 5th and I just sent off two more secondaries (five completed, still awaiting Wake Forest\'s via Post). I also have heard from every school so far except Loyola. It\'s been two weeks now since I was verified so who knows whats going on there.

It\'s October 13th and I just checked my e-mail and have received secondaries from Wake Forest, UNC, and Miami. Needless to say I am ecstatic, as I was not sure whether I would get secondaries from these schools (though I did know about the Wake Forest one a few days ago, but I am still excited to get it). Gotta get those done ASAP. I got started a little late in this process, but I am making up time now. Oh, while I was filling this out I got a secondary from Meharry, sweet. Still no word from Loyola at all (what the heck), and my application at ETSU is still \'under review\' (come on, you\'re right across the street, literally).

It\'s October 23rd and I have completed nine secondaries so far. I have yet to hear from Loyola at all, and I am waiting on a decision from ETSU and Vanderbilt about secondaries. I have heard nothing regarding interviews yet. I have to say that the nerve wracking-ness of this whole process is just starting to set in. The first four weeks since submitting my AMCAS I have been busy getting secondaries done and have had a steady flow of communication from schools but now I have just been waiting for a week, and checking my e-mail like a madman. Anyway hopefully something happens soon.

October 27th. I was about to call ETSU after class today and I stopped to check my e-mail first, and I had gotten their secondary. What luck, I am glad that my own school didn\'t just outright reject me. Haven\'t heard anything else, but I guess that isn\'t unusual since I just submitted my AMCAS six weeks ago, and have only been verified for four. I did notice that my status at George Washington switched to \'under review\', so good I guess. Also, one of my character letters hasn\'t made it to UCF, so I will have to get another sent. Bummer.

November 5th. I am complete with my stuff and awaiting interview/rejection news at 10 schools, waiting to hear about a secondary/interview from Vanderbilt, and finally got a secondary from Loyola. Waiting, waiting, waiting...All of the sudden I am getting nervous, somebody tell me something!

November 8th. Well I mailed my Loyola secondary today, should hear about a Vanderbilt secondary by the end of next week, and oh yeah, I have an interview at UT in two days! I got an e-mail this morning asking if I would be attending my interview, since they hadn\'t gotten my interview conformation form. I replied \'what interview?\'. Apparently they sent me an interview invitation two weeks ago that I never got, so I\'m off to Memphis. I hope this didn\'t happen at other schools, and many thanks to UT for checking up on me, that would have SUCKED otherwise.

November 9th. Just got word of my pre-secondary rejection from Vanderbilt. No big shock there, but still a little disappointing I guess.

November 14th. Just got a post-secondary rejection letter from Georgetown in the mail today. That sucks, I really think I might have liked that school. Oh, well...hope I get some better news from UT.

November 18th. UCF FINALLY received my second character letter, so I am complete there. Absolutely nothing to do now but wait for news from the ten schools I\'m still active at.

December 22nd. I have not updated this thing in a long time. Mostly because since my acceptance to UT I have not hear anything from any other schools. Well today I received an interview invitation to ETSU Quillen College of Medicine. My interview is on February the 2nd. Oh, it looks like I never said this, but I was accepted to UT Memphis, so belated woo-hoo I guess. I was really excited about that, so much so that I guess I didn\'t think about this site. Also I just graduated, so I have been pretty busy, and without the constant stream of information coming in from schools I guess I just forgot about updating this thing. Oh well. Looking forward to Quillen.

February 4th. I haven\'t updated in a REALLY long time. Well, had my interview at Quillen, and I actually really enjoyed it more than I thought I would. So now if I get in there I will have quite a decision on my hands. I have already decided I don\'t want to deal with a waitlist though, so if I don\'t get outright accepted I am just going to withdraw. I also was officially rejected from Tulane today via e-mail. I wasn\'t really planning on interviewing there even if they offered so I really don\'t care (okay, I am a little annoyed). Oh and apparently I had some mix up with Loyola so they didn\'t get a letter they needed, so I just became complete there a couple of days ago (though again I probably won\'t interview there if offered). I really am not expecting much at this point, and I am only interested in hearing from Wake Forest and UNC (and Quillen), I wouldn\'t interview at any of the others after my UT acceptance.

February 18th. I was officially rejected from UNC on the 13th. That sucks, but no big surprise. Should hear from ETSU within a week or so, but I don\'t know if I will go there if I get in. I would like to get in though. Other than that I only am really waiting to hear from Wake Forest. I won\'t withdraw my application from any schools though, but I don\'t honestly expect that I will get any more interviews.

March 4th. Well surprise, I did get another interview; at Meharry, on April 20th. I am going to go just to see what it is about, plus I am not really doing anything else. Also, I was rejected from UCF (Gasp!). No surprise there. Oh and I got accepted to Quillen. I don\'t know what I am going to do about that... well that\'s it I guess.

March 10th. Surprise number two; I was rejected at UCF, but I got a call saying that was a mistake and I am interviewing on March 27th. I also sent off my formal withdrawals to ETSU and Meharry.

March 11th. Got an e-mail from George Washington stating that they ended there normal interview season, but there was a \'slim\' chance of a Spring interview. I then promptly withdrew.

March 27th. I interviewed at UCF today. It was a nice setup I think, and really not a very difficult interview. I was annoyed to find out that they had filled the class a couple days ago, which \'technically\' doesn\'t matter since the wait-list \'should\' move, but come on, who is
going to turn down a full ride? So I find out my position on the wait-list in a couple of weeks, and unless it is pretty high, I am withdrawing, since I can\'t afford to wait around until I make plans for where I am going to be moving for the next four years.

April 6th. Got my rejections from Miami and Wake Forest. No surprises. That only leaves me active at three schools I think.

Okay, so I am attending UT, and I love it. Very glad I decided to go here.
