Brief Profile:
ECs so far: - Awarded several small scholarships, state wide scholarship (bright futures), a summer tuition waiver from Honors, and recently a $1,000 scholarship that is renewed every year till I graduate from Honors. Also granted a $900 Honors travel \"scholarship\" and another $500 travel \"scholarship\" for the New Mexico trip - Will be completing my Honors Thesis at the end of this semester (Spring 2010) on my organic chem-forensics research. I will also be leading another girl (she\'ll be my assistant) with my research so she can get her 2 credits to graduate -Shadowed Optometrist (I know, not an MD or DO, but I want to keep my options open as far as the medical world goes) -Shadowed a Medical Examiner and viewed an autopsy -Volunteer at low-income clinic from may 2008 to dec 2008 (about 40 hours, about 10 are clinical) -Colleges Against Cancer member for a year -Relay For Life for four years with one year as a team captain -Honors Program -Honors Program Event Coordinator - Will be part of Honors developement team 2010-11, working on making a web portal for the program, will get a scholarship for this -College Republicans Vice President for a year -Relay For Life Committee Mission Chair for a year -Juvinile Diabetes Walk (did it one year, hopefully will be able to do it again) -Holocaust Museum Service Team for a year (I wrote 5 papers on humanitarians, one from holocaust, several from rwanda, dafur, and one from albania, that saved a lot of people suffering from genocide. This was for the museum\'s Everyday Heros exhibit) -Athlete Tutor for 1.5 years (biology, algebra, and organic chem) -Volunteered to help hurricane victims (10 hours, after my area got hit with several hurricanes) -FGCU Reinforcements President/Founder for a year -Two Week service trip to New Mexico (Went to El Cerrito to help rebuild a schoolhouse and an adobe horno (oven) to bring together a small village, very different area than I\'m used to) -Volunteering as patient transporter for hospital (started in April, so far about 50 hours, taking a 3 month break till end of MCAT studying) - Center of Academic Achievement Tutor for a semester in Biology, Organic chem, genetics, biochem, and anatomy - Will be presenting two posters at university\'s Research Day - Possible pushing for publication, depending on circumstances, summer of 2010 - Confirmed to have published work in future book to be written by one of my former professors and the seven deadly sins - Public Health/Health Department volunteer, so far about 30 hours at H1N1 clinics - Got picked to represent science (1 of 12 honors students picked to represent a few studied areas, considered \"top\" honors students) at a student-faculty panel - Working with a local underprivledged center by holding a community day and collecting donations (four months for a class) - will most likely continue working with them - Accepted to present at the Southern Regional Honors Conference but could not attend due to lack of funds - Accepted to present at the National Honors Conference in October 2010

My MCAT score was pretty low, which was dissapointing after doing well in practice so I\'m already preparing to possibly retake again next year in case I have to reapply.
