Brief Profile:
Biomedical Engineering major (cum laude) Volunteer in ER - I get to see everything and assist with everything. Essentially, I\\\'m an unpaid ER Tech. Year of research - investigating synaptic plasticity in a hibernating rodent animal model Resident Advisor Tau Beta Pi, Dean\\\'s List, couple awards
Lots of jobs throughout college, including computer tech, engineering intern, teacher, etc.
I\\\'ve kept a 3.7 except for my freshman year. Bad grades brought down my GPA, and most of my engineering classes don\\\'t count as BCPM, which is why it\\\'s so low.
I applied early thinking I\\\'d get plenty of interviews, hoping to have an acceptance as a birthday present (November) or a sweet Christmas present.
I\\\'m Bradstein on SDN or BiomedNinjaneer on AIM if you\\\'d like to contact me. I try to leave constructive feedback on MDApps but my guess is as good as yours.

Summary of Application Experience
June 17 12PM PST - Submitted AMCAS June 20 5PM PST - First letter of rec in the mail, AMCAS still \'Ready to Review\' July 1 8AM PST - AMCAS verified July 7 - Added NYU, Buffalo, and OHSU at the suggestion of friends and MDApps July 8 - Final letter of rec arrived July 10 - Sent LORs to AMCAS via Interfolio July 19 - Sister\'s birthday, added Stanford July 22 - AMCAS receives LOEs, \'matched\' to the writer\'s name in AMCAS since I didn\'t save when I printed out the request forms. July 30: I didn\'t actually submit Baylor, but had made the payment and didn\'t finish submitting. Luckily, I was able to rewrite some of the secondary essay. Also, Columbia never got my passport photo so I had to remail it today. Lesson learned: call admissions and check your status if things are taking longer than expected. August 13 - Added Pitt and MCW October 10 - Columbia was great! The interview was really laid back just as advertised. The students are really happy and really laid back. November 14 - Yes, this is up to date. Added notes on here. Last night I sent AMCAS to NYMC, Temple, and Jefferson at the suggestion of majahops. December 29 - Letter of Interest mailed to UCI January 2 - Letter of Interest mailed to UVM January 26 - Letter of Intent mailed to Columbia March 3 - Rejected from Columbia. March 27 - Interview at MCW April 20 - Letter of Intent mailed to MCW
I didn\'t take a prep-course, I just studied the ExamKrackers books. The good verbal score is from 1. I always did better on that stuff in standardized tests throughout school, and 2. I read The Economist...a lot.
Fun Stuff My 95% chance of interview figure came from my good friend CancerKiller007 who called Michael Istwan after the small-pool email, who apparently said that.
