6/5: Submitted AMCAS!!!! The application process has officially
begun! Unfortunately, AMCAS has not received my transcript
yet(it was sent out on 5/30), so my application is
currently 'on hold.'
6/7: My transcript was received today and I am now 'ready for
review.'
6/11: Finally verified!
6/21: AMCAS app sent to schools
6/22: Received GW secondary via email
6/25: Submitted GW secondary (my LORs won't be sent for a week
though...)
6/26: Received and submitted SUNY Buffalo
Received Cornell's secondary
6/27: Received and submitted SUNY Upstate.
6/28: Received Jefferson and Miami.
6/30: Submitted Miami, Jefferson, and Cornell.
7/2: Received Pritzker and Georgetown...lots of essays to write now!
7/3: Received SUNY Downstate.
7/6: Submitted Georgetown, SUNY Downstate, and Pritzker. Now I have
nothing to do but wait for more secondaries...
7/10: Received Albert Einstein.
7/11: Submitted Einstein.
7/13: LORs finally uploaded onto VirtualEvals...hoping to receive
some 'complete' notices next week.
7/16: Complete at Cornell :-)
7/17: Received and submitted NYU
Complete at GW, Georgetown
7/18: Received Mount Sinai (2 essays to write...)
Complete at Pritzker
7/19: Submitted Mount Sinai.
7/23: Complete at NYU.
7/24: Received and submitted NYMC.
7/25: Complete at SUNY Buffalo.
7/30: I called Miami today to check my application status and they said I was complete!
8/2: Finally received SUNY Stony Brook's secondary...3 long essays to plod through this weekend.
8/3: I checked my status page at Jefferson and SUNY Upstate and I am complete at both schools (at SUNY Upstate, complete 7/17, not sure about Jefferson).
8/6: My first interview invite at SUNY Buffalo!!! I am so happy and excited! It is scheduled for 8/22, which is a lot earlier than I expected, but hopefully it will work out with my schedule.
8/7: Woohoo! My second invite at SUNY Upstate! I scheduled for 9/10. I also booked my flight to Buffalo...$198 roundtrip...it's a pretty quick flight so I don't have to worry about staying overnight.
8/9: Submitted Stony Brook.
8/13: Stony Brook acknowledged receipt of my secondary, then a few hours later sent me an email saying my file is complete. I called Mount Sinai and my application is complete there. Still waiting on AECOM and NYMC.
8/17: Downstate invite!!! It was assigned for 9/20. Also, I think I am complete at NYMC...the status page confused me at first, but it does say 'letters of recommendation received' which indicates complete. I'm not sure when that message showed up though. I called AECOM and they'll be emailing complete notices only, so I'll have to keep waiting for that.
8/21: My first rejection today from UChicago (per the status page they will not be continuing my application any further). It wasn't my top choice, so I'm not terribly disappointed, and I was kind of expecting this after a status page change last week, but I'm surprised to be rejected outright so early.
8/22: Today was my first interview at UB. I am really impressed with the school- the students and faculty seem very friendly and helpful. I really like their new curriculum (class 8-12 everyday!) and the early clinical exposure. I felt like the interviews went pretty well...they were both relaxed and the interviewers mostly asked me questions about my activities/interests. I wish I didn't have to wait until Oct. 15 to find out!
8/23: Mount Sinai invite!! I'm pretty excited because it's one of my top choices!! It is scheduled pretty late though, for 10/30.
8/24: More love from the SUNY schools...invite from Stony Brook!! I scheduled it for 9/25 (tried to coordinate it with Downstate, but apparently SB is closed for the Jewish holidays).
8/27: Invite from Miami!!! One of my top choices and I am really excited about it! I scheduled it for 9/17.
9/8: 2nd rejection: Georgetown :-( I guess my essay didn't convince them...
9/11: Finally received the Emory secondary, but I probably won't fill it out.
9/17: FINALLY received a complete notice from AECOM (after calling a week earlier).
9/25: Interview marathon (4 interviews in 2 weeks) is over! Returned from Stony Brook to an invite from NYU!
9/28: Put on hold by GW. I'm not all that surprised, considering I've been complete there since mid-July. It's too bad though, because I really like the DC area.
10/02: NYMC invite!!
10/15: ACCEPTED!!! WOOHOO!!! I'm gonna be a doctor!! Also interviewed at NYU and loved it...I don't want to wait for March! Please accept me NYU!
10/16: Withdrew from Emory. I didn't want to live in the South after all.
10/19: Rejected post-interview from SUNY Buffalo. Damn, I really don't know what happened there but I'm a bit disappointed because I really liked the school.
10/20: Rejected post-interview from SUNY Upstate.
11/25: Update- on hold at SUNY Downstate for re-review in the spring. Withdrew from NYMC as I would prefer Stony to it. So, no more interviews (I'm not expecting any) and it looks like things will be pretty quiet for me until March of next year. A long wait ahead...
12/1: Waitlisted at Mount Sinai which I'm really bummed about. No waitlist movement until May 15 either, which is absolutely torturous!
12/12: Hold becomes a rejection at GW. :-(
1/23: Received a rejection letter from Cornell in the mail today. I thought I had a good chance there, but I guess they didn't feel the same way. :-( I'm disappointed because I really would have liked to go there, but after going so long without hearing from them I pretty much expected the axe.
3/4: Waitlisted at NYU :-(
3/14: Finally received my rejected from Albert Einstein.
Well it looks like Stony Brook it is :-) I will keep my Mount Sinai and NYU waitlists, but I would probably only choose Sinai over Stony Brook (I don't want to really think about my decision unless I actually have to make it). So we'll see. More waiting to go...
6/10: I was accepted from the waitlist at NYU yesterday. Of course, I had been all set to go to Stony Brook and have already signed an apartment lease, etc. I don't think I will go to NYU, but I need some time to think it over. Why did they have to accept me so late?!?
