Summary of Application Experience
I had little hope at the beginning of the process. I partied during my first degree and earned a 2.5 GPA. In addition I had multiple F's and D's on my record. In the last semester of my first degree, an accident in the family had led me to my decision to become a physician. I re-enrolled and earned a second degree in Microbiology with a 3.7 GPA in the 40 science hours I took that year. I then decided to work on a Masters in Education to further improve my grades and show maturation. In my first 20 hours of my Masters I had a 3.8 GPA. I started applying in the middle of my Masters degree and have been pleased with the results. The process is tough when you doubt yourself; just make yourself apply and do it as early as possible.
