Summary of Application Experience
NOTES: really wish I submitted Pitt and Pritzker a lot earlier..
06/28 - submitted AMCAS after taking a week after school ended to work on my statement and get it looked at by the career center
06/29 - first secondaries... too bad don't have time to do them for a while
07/20 - verified
07/25 - flood of secondaries AHH, but also first interview! Auto-interview from U Mich! I am like hemorrhaging money...
08/22 - First non-automatic interview! from Case Western woohoo!
08/30 - DONE WITH SECONDARIES!!!!!!!!!!! (except Duke) I'm sooooo relieved since they've been the bane of my existence for the past month and a half or so.
09/11 - Duke finally sends me their secondary. Well... I'm through with writing for the rest of the year, so.... sorry.
09/15 - My first interview at Vanderbilt! Impressive and fun experience.
10/10 - Hmm no interview invites for a while. Am I done getting them? I hope not =/
10/15 - ARGH no U Mich =( I really liked their school too...
10/17 - Well I guess the schools were waiting for 10/15 to pass, because.... 3 more interviews in the past few days!
10/20 - :-( My first official waitlist in the mail from Vandy, my love.
10/31 - Yale interview invite!! Very excited about this, especially since it's my first in a while.
11/04 - Got back from my interview trip... 5 schools in 5 days. That was tiring. Now to catch up on missed classes....
11/07 - AHHH!!!! My first acceptance at CASE!! I'm going to be a doctor!!! =D
11/16 - So I declined my interview and withdrew from Dartmouth. It really pained me to do so, as I've heard great things about it, and would have really liked to visit. However, I've already missed so much class, and Dartmouth only interviews Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I would have had to miss 2-3 days for that one school... which I really can't do.
11/17 - Wow 2 acceptances in the last 2 days. I feel truly blessed!
11/20 - Hmm. Feinberg ambiguity. Consensus is a *likely* acceptance, but I'll believe it when I see it.
11/24 - Well I had a very grateful Thanksgiving, especially with my luck so far in the process. Today I got the snail mail letter from Feinberg, confirming an acceptance. Woohoo!
11/27 - Withdrawing from USC. If it weren't scheduled for right before finals, I would have gone since it's close. However, I don't think I would go anyway, so might as well withdraw. This was actually a really sad withdrawal. =(
12/08 - Well this was a really sad week. I got a waitlist, a continuation, and a probable rejection. =( Oh well, gives me a reality check after that one week where I got a lot of good news.
01/09 - Well no such luck. Although I did have a wonderful break, it was marred only by med schools. My last Christmas break of college. I'm going to miss it. And this school year needs to be over.
05/15: MSSM it is!
