Took the April 2006 MCAT...we'll see the results in a couple of months.

05/08/06 - I decided to add a bunch more schools to my potential application list. I tried to be more diverse and picked schools where I can see myself living for the next four or so years. Suggestions are welcome.

05/17/06 - Sent in transcript requests to my uGrad institutions. still working on the pesky AMCAS and AACOMAS.

05/19/06 - Email confirmation from AMCAS that they received both of my uGrad institution transcripts. Now to finish the PS and confirm my AMCAS and AACOMAS.

05/22/06 - Website confirmation from AACOMAS that they received my Brandeis uGrad transcript.

05/24/06 - Solidified which DO schools I am going to apply to. AACOMAS essay being written.

05/26/06 - Sent another request for a transcript for NEU to be sent to AACOMAS since it has yet to show up on the website. AMCAS PS undergoing editing. Making the final decision as to which MD to apply to.

05/30/06 - Met with a 3rd year resident Heme/Onco DO doctor for a recommendation. Modified my listings of school based on his suggestions. Added WVU (where he went) and MSU (well-rounded program for possible allo res).

05/31/06 - The Heme/Onco DO submitted my recommendation. I got confirmation from the Relay for Life coordinator that she will write me a recommendation. Fingers crossed.

06/01/06 - Submitted my AACOMAS. Dished out money. Disappointed that one of my transcripts has not arrived at AACOMAS yet. I already sent two requests. AMCAS has received them already. It's a waiting process now. Waiting to submit my AMCAS on June 5th.

06/05/06 - Submitted my AMCAS. Dished out money. My transcripts are both in for the AMCAS and the AACOMAS. They are now ready for review. Preparing the essays for some DO secondary applications.

06/06/06 - My DO recommendation was received today. My Relay letter was sent out this morning. In theory, they should arrive by the 9th and my application is all set. Applications have yet to be verified. I'm ready for secondaries!

06/07/06 - AMCAS verified and made availible to my MD schools. AACOMAS received payment. All my LORs are in and submitted my request for my early committee letter. Should be sent out by August

06/09/06 - AACOMAS verified. GPA calculations incorrect and undercut by 30 semester hours. Wrote an email to AACOMAS.

06/12/06 - Contacted AACOMAS and am going to have my GPA looked at for accuracy.

06/13/06 - Notification that there was an error to the processing of my application and it will be fixed before the end of the week. They admitted to their mistake. This should improve my suffering sGPA.

06/20/06 - AACOMAS still has not fixed my semester hours and GPA. They said they will not send my application until I had a chance to review them. AACOMAS is putting a hold on things because they want to make sure they don't a lot of calls from unhappy applicants. I really hope they do it soon and do it correct. This is mildly annoying. Now, the MCATs. I'm okay with my scores. It should get me somewhere.

06/26/06 - AACOMAS finally recredited my 30 AACOMAS hours. I am glad that is squared away before my application is printed and sent to DO schools. Now, I can sit back and wait for secondaries.

06/27/06 - AACOMAS says that it mailed my applications out on 6/26, however, under the mailed status column, it says revised since I had to have my application reconfigured. Hope its okay. I believe AMCAS has begun to release the AMCAS application to medical schools since I received a secondary from GWU.

07/05/06 - GWU secondary sent $105. It took a little while to get this done, but its sent and I don't have to think about it until I hear about an interview. It's frustrating when the DO and MD schools that I'm applying to are slow to distribute their secondaries.

07/11/06 - GWU received my secondary. Now they have to download my LOR from VE and my package should be all set. I need more secondaries! As secondaries are sent, Brandeis sends my letters.

07/13/06 - Received UMass Medical, Nova Southeastern University secondary applications, and Loma LInda University

07/14/06 - Further problems with UMass Medical login, Nova Southeastern University submitted online $50, sending the signature page tomorrow.

07/17/06 - Loma Linda University submitted online $75. Sent request for Brandeis to submit my Virtual Evaluations. Let's get some of these verified! UMass said they're working on the login problems. I'm questioning whether it is beneficial to be this early...when you have to contend with all these bugs! Still unsure about whether UMDNJ is really out. Dartmouth is supposedly, but didn't receive anything via snail mail. Working on Drexel now also.

07/18/06 - I decided to add Medical College of Wisconsin since its an easier application and I'm happy about their 2006 match list.

07/19/06 - Received NYMC and MCW secondary applications. Sent both NYMC $100 and MCW $60. Nova Southeastern received my signature page. Let's get those LORs in! I want to be complete. Still waiting on UMass.

7/20/06 - Even though not received officially because of a bottleneck, I'm doing the secondary applications for Dartmouth and UMDNJ.

07/21/06 - Submitted Dartmouth and UMDNJ secondaries. Looking for more...! NYMC and MCW package complete! Okay, surprise! Interview invite by Western/COMP before and secondary is released. They want to interview me late August and want my application in before then. :) They even have a 30 day deadline after email notification. Yikes! Happy, but pressured.

07/24/06 - Received the secondary for AZCOM. Still doing Western/COMP secondary. Notification from NYIT that they received my AACOMAS and reviewing for secondary.

07/25/06 - My GW package is now finally complete. Don't know what took so long. So, September 8th is my interview day for Western. I'm excited.

07/28/06 - Looking for secondary confirmation and package completions. Still doing secondaries. Dartmouth secondary confirmed. Update: Received MSUCOM and Touro=MI secondary applications.

07/31/06 - Inundated by secondaries. Received UVM and sent $85. Tufts U $105 was sent out today. Working out the recommendation process for MSUCOM. Still pending, Touro-MI, AZCOM, MSUCOM, UMass, and Western. Dartmouth package complete.

08/01/06 - Sending out MSUCOM $85, paid securely online and attached receipt to the application. Getting new letter writers because of MSUCOM's stringent evaluation process. RFU received, PDF!? Nova needs to get my letters!

08/02/06 - Okay, delay for sending out MSUCOM, sent out today. RFU is being reformatted so its editable by another Brandeisian. Nova and Loma Linda still haven't received my evaluations. Grr. UNECOM has my AACOMAS under review. They could hold off on it because I've got enough on my plate now :P

08/03/06 - NSU receved my secondary, application fee, confirmation page, and LORs, but I'm still not complete? Errrr... Loma Linda said it might take up for four weeks for my application to be reviewed and processed before recording recommendations. That's...long! I guess I wait. UMDNJ-SOM complete, call from Ms. Heinz. Okay, NSU complete, waiting on the update page.

08/04/06 - DMU secondary received. All these optional essays :)

08/07/06 - Package complete for Loma Linda by phone and email

08/08/06 - Package complete for UVM by website

08/09/06 - Sent Touro $100 and Des Moines University $50

    08/10/05 - Sent AZCOM $50, Western U $65 finally, UMass has problems.

08/11/06 - Received notification that WVSOM has received my AACOMAS and it is under review. I won't receive a secondary until an interview invite.

08/14/06 - Interview invite for WVSOM along with secondary. It's the same day as Western, but I'm going to try to push it a week later.

08/15/06 - Got my WVSOM interview moved to the Friday afterwards and received a notification from NSUCOM for an interview. I'm probably going to do the following Friday for that one. Keep them rolling!
Drexel received and sent $80. UMass check sent also.

08/16/06 - Des Moines and AZCOM complete notified by email and Western complete notified by phone.

08/18/06 - Touro MI Complete. Email from Lynn Huckle about potential interview. UMass having difficulty finalizes the secondary application, but my fee and my LORs are in. Waiting...I guess it doesn't help being early.

08/21/06 - Interview invite from Touro-MI. Decided not to take the early admission because I didn't want to be bound at the moment.

08/22/06- DMU interview invite for the 28th of September. One every week!

08/23/06 - UMass has my application package under review with the admissions counsel. We'll see what transpires!

08/25/06 - WVSOM sent $80. MSU has yet to receive my signature page. Let's go mail!!

08/29/06 - MSU didn't receive it. Going to overnight the page to them. Tufts' package complete.

08/30/06 - Mailed another MSU signature page.

08/31/06 - The Adminstrative staff at MSU is pretty great. They said that that the confirmation page was one of the things that are crucial to the package, but they understand that if it arrives a little late. They said to call back on Tuesday. WVSOM complete by telephone. AZCOM interview invite.

    09/11/06 - UNECOM secondary received

    09/18/06 - Unbelieveable...Western U.

09/20/06 - Long overdue but RFU sent. Confirmed that my Drexel application package is complete. It probably was complete awhile ago, but they never informed me about it.

09/27/06 - RFU confirmed that my application package is complete. Still waiting on NSUCOM. UMDNJ interivew invite for 11/3. Waitlisted at WVSOM.

10/06/06 - Withdrew from Touro-MI due to many circumstances.

10/09/06 - UNECOM interview invite for 11/11. NSUCOM acceptance. Waiting on DMUCOM.

    10/10/06 - DMUCOM acceptance.

10/11/06 - Called Dartmouth, George Washington, Loma Linda, Loma Linda, Med College of Wisconsin, New York Medical College, and University of Vermont to make sure things were going smoothly. Lots of waiting. Still hanging in there.

10/31/06 - Withdrew from UMDNJSOM. School didn't meet my needs.

11/13/06 - Withdrew from AZCOM. Too far from home to warrant the other advantages. I'm happy with where I have gotten into and applied. Plus they never gave me another interview date...almost two months down the line even though I called several times. Oh well.

11/15/06 - UNECOM acceptance. Four day turn around. Yikes!

11/18/06 - Hard to evaluate these schools. It seems like it's going to be between UNECOM and NSU. So many pros for each. Since they are very different schools it has been hard to compare.

    11/30/06 - Deposits galore!

12/04/06 - WVSOM acceptance. Funny, after deferment since October

    2/12/07 - Lots of updates
