Summary of Application Experience

The process is expensive and nerve racking, however, in spite of my scores and of my advisor saying that I would never get into medical school with my MCAT scores (or not even be invited for an interview) I received invitations for interviews and already an acceptance letter. No, I may be Hispanic but not URM. People tend to always classify low MCAT acceptances together with URM. Is there a chance that things are not black and white? Of course.

DO vs MD talks are really not worth it. A physician is a physician; the differences are in their specialty, personal skills and ability to be an effective healer or not.

Give it your all, be optimistic but realistic (I did apply to schools knowing that I would not get in, but hey, the -50% probability was still fun). Being a physician is about 100% service. There is nothing glamorous about medicine, just tons of personal satisfaction...think about it.
