Summary of Application Experience
This is the second time I applied to medical school. I applied last year, and ultimately only completed applications to two schools. At one, I was rejected post-secondary and at the other I was rejected post-interview. This year, I applied to seven schools, and then elected to not place secondary applications at two of the schools and instead applied to two other schools. I went to speak with the dean of admissions at the school where I was rejected post-interview last year, and he told me that the best thing to beef up my application would be more hands-on experience such as shadowing. I made the commitment to shadow on a more regular basis and also got a job as a ward clerk at my local hospital.
