Summary of Experience:
GWU is my least favorite medical school in the US.
Brief review of school-
Location is good, if you like being in a really boring government city with a bunch of pretentious undergrads that go out to chain restaurants and get fat.
school is very expensive (most expensive in USA?), but they do claim to offer merit scholarships and financial aid (generous?). emphasis on the "CLAIM"
research opportunities exist, but definitely not as emphasized as in other research heavy schools.
edit: research is not a big deal here.
track programs done by 70% of students, some of them are interesting - urban care / research, but it all seems like some forced learning material.
scholarly project was a little vague (actually REALLY vague)
hospital was brand new, and it is the president's hospital, which is cool I guess. teaching facilities were also pretty new, although at this point i have kind of stopped caring about the latter.
students seemed to be very caught up in class and potentially too much class time. Only med school I went to where the kids complained incessantly about everything.

Summary of Experience:
Despite not having any formal interview day presentation, my day at Einstein was long and didn't end until around 430 pm. It took some effort getting to the Bronx, and the neighborhood the school is in is a little far for me to consider "New York City." I did appreciate the amicability of the admissions staff, and the changing rooms and metro cards were convenient gestures.
As for the school itself, it seems to have a significant amount of funding for research. Only school with a significant bioethics course, which my interviewer was proud of but the students seem to think was a waste of time. I really like the many opportunities for research including to do a MS in clinical research. Commitment to teaching is apparent.
Although they hyped it up in their brochure, their gym was really lame.
Housing was cheap at only 400 per month, and students live in dorms all four years. No car needed.
Students seemed very happy. P/F first two years.
My interviewer was a very nice lady and although I had some trouble articulating a few of my answers, I think my interviewer looked past that and just wanted to get to what I was saying. Felt pretty good about interview.
Did I already mention that this school does NOT count as New York City?
Also...
Yeah not even going to say it.

Summary of Experience:
UMass is a terrific state school and I would be more than happy to attend.
Worcester was pleasantly not as horrible as I expected, but it's still, well... Worcester. Most students don't live too close and all need a car for all 4 years. Hospital is isolated in a beautiful location though, yet within walking distance from Worcester (in case you have the urge to get mugged - just kidding)
Interview day was really poorly organized and made me unhappy. Was also very sick that morning. Wasn't fun. Umass overall seems to have a lot of money and on the rise. When asked, my interviewers didn't do a great job of convincing me that their school was special or particularly good for the community. Seemed a little forced. It's cheap (!!) so umass would be hard to turn down since it's pretty good (especially for primary care)
Didn't give me my decision by March, got accepted to Duke, withdrew.

1LSPOI - I was very curious about Dartmouth, and after attending my interview a few days ago, I'll give my review:
1- beautiful school & location, loved the campus. This is the first time I have visited one of those "we're only a town because we have a college here" towns and could see myself living there as a student. Seriously, i usually can't stand these towns. Fortunately, Dartmouth was completely different and I could see myself being a student there.
Everything about the medical school was beautiful, and it was also the first time that the students seemed particularly well-bonded/well-adjusted.
I love doing things outside and burning calories or what have you, and this place would definitely meet that need.
plus they have a lot of great exchange programs in the (unlikely) event that I would get sick of the school.
I imagine it could get pretty cold here :(
buildings weren't new, besides from the hospital, but i don't really care about the former. speaking of the hospital, it was a lot bigger than i had anticipated, despite doing significant research on the subject.
I had two interviews, and I would say the first went better than the second, which was a little more questionable (although I wouldn't say outstandingly bad).
Given Dartmouth's A) competitiveness and B) admissions policy, I would not be surprised if I had to wait a long time only to receive a rejection. I really hope that that is not what ends up happening.

-interview invite, yay, im excited, but getting to St. Louis is difficult, this interview might be difficult to attend.
-the interview was impressive. Happiest students in the country and high board scores (according to OoA). Many many many opportunties. Nice neighborhood. People kept joking about getting stabbed in St louis. lol.
Would love to come here. Good looking interview group.
Midwestern people are friendly.
Wouldn't want to live in Olin.
Interview tour guides were amazing.
Did I mention many research opportunities? Relatively low avg. Debt. Good funding.
Interviews 4/5 and 5/5.
According to the students, the worst a student tends to match is to wustl or an equivalent program.
Interviewer said she didn't think I would move to st. louis ... true.

Brown was my #1 for undergrad but didnt get into their PLME program.
Has a beautiful new building which would seem to make the classes all "gel" together during the first two years. Facilities are top notch overall.
Didn't get much of a tour of the RI hospital, so this would e something I would be curious about. Also other hospitals close but not within walking distance.
School is very much structured around transcending the limits of an MD degree. Everyone seemed interested in making sure students would be the ones who would go on to lead in new / nontraditional pathways of medicine.
Class size will be expanding to 120 this year, of which 1/2 are from linkage or PLME programs.
Like Dartmouth, brown seems to have a lot of money (although not as much as little D for financial aid)
The undergrad campus is beautiful though, one of my favorites in the US.
Providence is like a miniature charicature of bostons extremes. Very progressive environment.
I thought my interviews went well, really clicked with my second interviewer.
Students iterviewing with me did not seem uptight, which is always nice.

school has a very fast turnaround after submitting primary.
Upon visiting, I must say I am very impressed. Huge monopoly of a city hospital system that pretty much dominates Pittsburgh now that steel is gone. Awesome opportunities for research, great enrichment type programs for people who want more than a cookie cutter med school experience. I could definitely see myself going here, and the students seemed to be more \"my type\"
Interview day was also very well organized, which was a relief.
The school did admit to a lack of diversity in patient population, but this wouldn\'t hold me back since everythig else about Pitt was so impressive. Really good programs specifically in what I am interested in.
Ps the hill everyone complains about isn\'t that bad.
UPDATE: waitlisted this past week, like 80% of their applicants. So basically I know I\'m not in the top or bottom 10th percentile of their interviewees. I REALLY liked Pitt and I\'m pretty bummed about having to wait until March before having the potential to hear some good news.
Combined with Rochester Rejection, this was a crappy week.

And another waitlist. Not feeling oh-so confident about my ability to interview. Happy Valentine\'s Day to you too NYU!
liked it just like i liked BU, probably even more. manhattan is an amazing place, and its hard to imagine a school being in a better location.
bellevue is a historical hospital, the kind i would want to experience as a medical student. (only BMC compares as far as the schools I interviewed at, and even that isn\'t quite similar)
good programs in all of the things i am interested in.
honors in research? (Must be basic science)
can do MD/MPH in 4 years
avg. board score of 235.
facilities pretty good - not a big thing for me.
student housing can be all 4 years, dorms were actually nice (as opposed to most student dorms, which tend to be pretty pathetic).
got waitlisted at brown during my interview, so i was pretty unhappy during all of the tours in the sense that i couldn\'t be asked to make small talk with everyone, although the students here seemed pretty happy and involved in a lot of things.
very kind interviewer, might have talked a little too much though (kept questioning whether i should just stay quiet and let her talk).

Accepted! with scholarship! (not full tuition but still wonderful)
I submitted my secondary September 1st. I received an interview invite September 4th (so I didn't have to wait through the 30 day email etc. like most other applicants seem to). I was invited to an interview in early October (my first one, so exciting ahh!!!!).
The interview day was impressive. Needless to say, BU is a unique learning environment. Probably the most diverse school I interviewed at in terms of patient population. (like 100+ languages in hospital?!?). Has many good opportunities for research, although of course its not really a "research giant" like some of the other schools I've been given the opportunity to interview at.
My interview was with a faculty member (PhD in biochemistry) and lasted about 70 minutes. My interviewer seemed very enthusiastic about my chances, which was a tremendous relief and eliminated a lot of my anxiety about the interviewing process in general. After receiving a personal acceptance email, I was thrilled.
Apparently, BU gives out 4-6 15k/year scholarships to matriculating students. I never applied for one, I just got an email one day saying "congratulations...-with love, BU"
Summary of Application Experience
If someone had told me I would have ended up with acceptances at the schools I did in September, I would have ran off psyched out of my fucking mind.
PS if you can identify who I am goodworkyo
