Brief Profile:
I had a pretty cliched experience of a first generation immigrant; my mother was a housekeeper and my father a street vendor. I attended a title 1 high school with a 40% graduation rate and went to a public city college while working to pay my way through school and help out my parents along the way. Life wasn't easy by any measure, but I had the benefit of growing up in a loving family with parents, family, and friends who always believed in me. Today, not only am I the first person in my family to graduate from college, I'm also going to be a doctor!
Things to take away from my experience: apply EARLY! I was verified a few days after submitting my primary application.
I hope my experience here can in some small way help someone else fulfill their dreams as well.

Summary of Experience:
Loved the school here. The students were friendly, the interviewers were great, and could really see myself attending. Unfortunately was wait listed, and it's unfortunate that stony's wait list movement is very late in the cycle.

First interview and I was pretty nervous. Thought I bombed the interview but ended up wait listed, so not too shabby for a first try I suppose. The area was great, and so was the school. Not my first choice as I didn't feel I fit in with the atmosphere, but it's a great school nonetheless.

Withdrew. Hampton roads is definitely a nice place to live. The EVMS hospital is top notch. Had an awesome interview experience here. The standardized patient teaching method is really neat. Definitely a top choice.

Withdrew. Liked the feel of syracuse, good college town. Don't know if I can stand the winters here though. Good school, liked the MMI interviews, very refreshing.

My first acceptance. It was so overwhelming, and I got the nod when I was actually on a plane flying to another interview. UVM was amazing, and I've never been to another school like it before or since. The staff were super friendly, the students were all awesome, and were definitely older with life/work experience outside medicine. Burlington felt like the polar opposite of a typical big city, but in a good way. Would be ecstatic to matriculate here.

WOW! Amazing school with an amazing top notch hospital. Rush pulled out all the stops to make sure our interview experience went smoothly. They even had guides to take us to and from our interviews. Everything ran like clockwork. The dean, president, and head of admissions all came to talk to us personally! The students were all very friendly and professional. The day couldn't have gone any better. Rush set the golden standard for interview days. Loved rush, glad the feeling was mutual.

Withdrew. Loved the school, great student guides, awesome professors/interviewers. Great relaxed and easygoing vibe, right up my alley. Really loved the school, and it seems the feeling was mutual.

Withdrew. Good school. Only downside is that the medical center and school are on opposite sides of town, but a shuttle make it easy to get to and fro. Philly's a cool place, went to see the rocky statue, can see myself living here.
